"It took two days to tear out the old insulation under the bottom floor and install encapsulation in the whole crawlspace. Nick and his crew did quality work getting the job completed. "The workers were outrageously good. The guy that did the estimate was under what it should have been and it cost us double the amount, but the guys who did the work were fabulous and made it work. It cost more, but the basement does not have a smell or anything, so I can't blame them for it. They were done in a week. I was embarrassed, there wasn't a speck of dirt when they were done. It was clean as a whistle, and it wasn't like that when they walked in. They were really good. They recommended an electrician, and so even if they didn't do some part, they support you and help you find them. They check up and make sure everything is okay. They call back every time you call them. They did a great job."

Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.
