We charge per foot for our Railings. Welding services charged per hour. Ask for your Angies List member discount. We have a showroom available if you need design help. FREE ESTIMATE. We do not use subcontractors. Visit our website for design ideas and our "GATE SHOWROOM". We DO NOT DO WOOD FENCES OR PREFAB METAL. WE DO NOT REPAIR WOOD FENCE OR WOOD SPINDALS. We are custom fabricate all our jobs - we measure everything, fabricate and install our own work. NO WOOD PROJECTS (this is here to help you pick the right partner)

"Watson iron and steel did our railing for our back porch in 2019. They had to come back and make some corrections, but all in all, we were pleased with their work. We had them come back out a few months ago to measure for our new railing on our front porch. We told the man who came out to literally replicate the railings THEY made to match the back porch exactly. He looked and the back railings, measured the height, the distance between the pickets, etc. I was very clear, and he seemed to understand perfectly… it was simple “just make the exact same thing you made last time.” Yep, got it! Well apparently it wasn’t as simple as it seemed! On the order, they added additional posts instead of screwing into our pillars, and they added twice as many pickets. The communication between the man who came to take our order and the woman who executed the order was obviously quite poor. They told us that they needed to come out and measure again since we didn’t want the additional posts, and even though it was their error, they still charged us an additional fee because they had to make another trip out. We argued endlessly about the fee, but finally gave up and just paid the fee. It was ridiculous. fast forward to today… It still isn’t what we asked for! They did screw the railing into our columns instead of installing additional posts. But we still have twice as many pickets out front as we do in the back. It looks tacky, and after shelling out over $3K for the tiny railing, I hate it. I asked my husband what he wanted to do about it, and he said not to bother because there’s no way they’re going to fix it now that we have already paid them. Isn’t that sad? That we’re not even going to bother trying to work things out with these people because we know they won’t do it. And don’t forget, we’re repeat customers. ? I wish there were more iron companies in and around Charlotte, but sadly, this seems to be the only one. The first picture is our back porch railing. There are 6 inches between the pickets. The second picture is our front porch. There are 3 inches between each packet. They definitely don’t match."

Uncompromising quality and integrity in all of your precious metals purchases and sales. Specializing in gold & silver bullion. Avoid gold and silver retailers selling you their inventory at high premiums! We pay top prices for jewelry, sterling, diamonds and watches! Fisher Precious Metals is a national gold and silver dealer. Listed as a national dealer with the United States Mint, Fisher Precious Metals is a trusted resource for gold and silver coins and bars. Established in 1995, the firm works with individuals on all issues related to buying and selling physical precious metals, storage, security, estate liquidation and long-term exit strategies. John Fisher, the President, is an ICTA Board Member and is approved by the State of Florida to teach Continuing Education courses on precious metals investing to CFP's, CPA's, attorneys and insurance professionals. In addition, John is a frequent guest on various financial radio broadcast programs. Fisher Precious Metals is an A+ rated Accredited Business with the Better Business Bureau.

"It went great! We found Fisher Precious Metals on Angie's List, and after googling them, we found they had very positive reviews across the web. Although it was a 45 minute drive from our home, we felt it might be worth it, and it was. We made an appointment with John via email, arrived at 11:00, and spent just over an hour in his office. He evaluated the sterling silver set we had to sell and gave us what we felt was a very fair price. He'd given us an estimate on the value of the gold coins via email, and although the price of gold had fluctuated since he'd provided the quote, the final price was very, very close to the initial quote. We were happy to learn that they will also buy jewelry, as I have a few pieces I haven't worn in a very long time. We were very pleased with the entire experience and will definitely return to their company when we have gold or silver to sell, and we're happy to recommend them to our friends. One thing to keep in mind is that sterling silver sets are basically worth the price of the silver itself. We knew that going in, so we were not disappointed and, in fact, the price we received was a little higher than we'd expected."

GGCI has been a successful contractor for many years. We know that as a homeowner facing a major home improvement project, there are three major areas that are of concern to you and your family. Of course your COST is one of these concerns, along with assurance that the materials used are of the highest QUALITY …after all, your home is a major investment! But, even more important than these two major areas is THE CONTRACTOR you select for your project. What should you expect to receive from every contractor submitting a quote for your project?

"The best decision we made on our storm damages,,,,,the guys worked with our insurance adjusters,,,,and got what we needed to get our home fixed,,,,,they have great roofing people,,,,got our roof completed and cleaned up quickly,,,,and were very nice to talk and explain any concerns we may have had,,,,,,,another crew came and finished up down spouts and windows quickly and very professional,,,,,,,,,,,very great pricing,,,,,,and the customer service was exceptional,,,always calling and checking on any concerns we may have,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,would recommend these guys to any of our family and friends,,,,,,,5 stars for sure,,,,,,,thanks,,,,"

Metal Fabrication and Restoration questions, answered by experts

The average cost to hire a welder is about $300, with an average rate ranging from $65 to $125 per hour, depending on their experience and the project type and size. Aside from labor costs, some other charges you’ll need to pay include the cost of the welding material and the cost of the shielding gas that makes welding possible and safe. When you’re interviewing welders for your work, you can ask for an estimate based on your project specifics. In some simple cases, like welding gas lines or common welding projects, local welders may charge a flat hourly rate with add-ons if necessary.

Costs depend on material type, labor, design complexity, finishing requirements, and installation needs.

Storing brass properly, cleaning it regularly, avoiding excess handling, and making sure to only use gentle, non-abrasive cleaning materials can all help extend the life of brass. Storing little-used brass items in airtight, water-tight containers will help prevent oxidation and water damage. For more frequently used items, try not to handle them frequently with bare hands, clean them when they begin showing signs of oxidation or tarnish, and avoid harsh, abrasive cleaners or tools.

Brass that is turning black is experiencing oxidation, a reaction caused by exposure to air. The oxygen found in air reacts with the metal and begins to cause discoloration that will become darker and more widespread with time. Regular cleaning will remove oxidation and prevent it from progressing on brass items.

Welders use a variety of methods in their trade. Different types of welding are better suited for different purposes and contexts. For example, stick welding is a versatile form suitable for most metals and alloys. The most common types of welding include:

  • Stick welding: $100–$1,000

  • Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding: $250 and up

  • Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding: $250 and up

  • Gas welding: $150 and up

  • Forge welding: $15–$25 per hour
