Small jobs welcome

"I talked to Justin about wanting a floodlight camera above my garage door. I didn't have any pre existing wiring to use a wired one so wasn't sure what my options were. He picked out a solar panel ring light since that was going to be the cheapest and easier route than running wires to an electrical source. I'm very pleased at how it turned out. He picked up the camera the day we talked and the next day he was installing it. The installation looks very professional and secure. He also helped me finish installing my ring doorbell camera as I had lost the installation screws. Justin is defiantly my go to pro for all my future smart home projects!"

"I HIGHLY recommend PEEPLES PLUMBING & GAS. It is a family-owned business with skilled technicians. Curtis and Bobby came same morning and at exact time they said they would be there!! They resolved my flooding washing machine and overflowing kitchen sinks in 45 min. They were very professional and efficient. I am very confident in the work that they did. I have honestly never left a review for anything but this company deserves one. Use them!!!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

No, you don’t need to hire an electrician to install your garage door opener. Garage door professionals have the skills and expertise to install the wiring necessary to connect the opener to your home’s wiring system. When hiring a local garage door professional to install your system, make sure the opener task is included in the list of provided services.

There are three main wires on a doorbell, typically color-coded white, black, and green, that are connected to a transformer box in your home. One wire runs to the doorbell button, another wire runs to the door chime, and the third wire runs between the doorbell button and the door chime.

The copper wire used in knob and tube wiring systems can last up to 100 years. However, it’s considered a dangerous and outdated wiring method because the cloth, fabric, or rubber insulation sheathing can become brittle and fall apart. Knob and tube wiring systems should be inspected if you’re considering buying a home with this type of wiring, or if you have problems with frequently tripping breakers, a sign that you may need to replace them.

Rewiring projects cost anywhere between $1,500 and $10,000 on average, depending on the complexity and the size of the rewiring. You can anticipate spending between $2 and $4 per square foot of wire, including labor and materials. Wire material ranges from $0.25 to $1.60 per linear foot.

While the line can't be removed, a pro can place a cap on the end to stop leaks. Contact a pro for a service call and speak with them about the related costs of either capping or removing the line altogether. Capping a gas line will cost between $75 and $150 while removing it will start at $250.
