Small jobs welcome

"I talked to Justin about wanting a floodlight camera above my garage door. I didn't have any pre existing wiring to use a wired one so wasn't sure what my options were. He picked out a solar panel ring light since that was going to be the cheapest and easier route than running wires to an electrical source. I'm very pleased at how it turned out. He picked up the camera the day we talked and the next day he was installing it. The installation looks very professional and secure. He also helped me finish installing my ring doorbell camera as I had lost the installation screws. Justin is defiantly my go to pro for all my future smart home projects!"

"I HIGHLY recommend PEEPLES PLUMBING & GAS. It is a family-owned business with skilled technicians. Curtis and Bobby came same morning and at exact time they said they would be there!! They resolved my flooding washing machine and overflowing kitchen sinks in 45 min. They were very professional and efficient. I am very confident in the work that they did. I have honestly never left a review for anything but this company deserves one. Use them!!!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Full home electrical inspections are mandatory if you’re buying a new home, but if you’re just looking for a safety checkup, you have some flexibility. If you don’t have any concerns and your property is relatively new, a basic inspection is usually sufficient. If it’s been a long time since your home was last inspected, or it’s an older home, a full home inspection can help catch any concerns that may fly under the radar.

A low-voltage landscape lighting system using 15 to 20 LED lights for six hours a night will average about $5 to $10 a month in electricity costs. This is considered affordable lighting for many homeowners. Most modern landscape lights use LED bulbs, but some older styles may use halogen or incandescent bulbs, which can cost up to five times more than LEDs in electrical costs.

Single-pole light switches are the most common light switches on the market. Their simple features make them easy to install and use. For more powerful applications that require 30 or 40 amps, you may need to use a double-pole switch. Some homeowners may want multi-way switches like three-way or four-way switches to control a light fixture from opposing ends of the room.

Type S or T fuses don’t require any special removal or installation tools. However, replacing a cartridge-style fuse is easier and safer when using a fuse-puller tool. All of these tools should be available anywhere you can buy fuses.

Amps describe the amount of energy that can flow through a circuit breaker. Every electrical device that’s attached to the breaker requires about 1.5 amps. While that equates to roughly 13 receptacles per 20 amps, using slightly fewer ensures that your circuit will always have enough energy for sudden power surges instead of tripping when one occurs. In general, 10 to 12 receptacles is recommended for a 20 amp circuit.
