"I am very happy with Garth’s excellent work painting my guest room walls, crown molding, baseboards, and door trim. He also painted the wooden framework of my screened porch and installed a shower head. Garth was efficient, tidy, relatable, and kind."

"Excellent! Highly recommend Eden Handyman and Landscaping, they did a great job removing stumps, trimming bushes, spreading pine straw, installed new porch railing and posts. Going to be using them again soon. Good people to work with."

"I was referred to Tony from a neighbor after noticing how clean and fresh her home smelled when I dropped in for a visit. I called the next day and was on the schedule within a week. Tony and one other coworker arrived on the dot and went to work, these men were hardworking and did not stop from 9:30am until 1:45pm when they left! We had roughly 7-8 areas of carpet that needed to be restretched from poor installation (despite the house and carpet only 3 years old). I worked from home this day and could smell how clean everything was starting to be! I was floored when they told me they were finished and I could walk through to make sure the work met my needs. A lot of companies would not do this and I appreciated the time to do so. You could never be able to see where the carpet was restretched and it legitimately looks brand new and smells fantastic! They were timely, very neat with their work and mindful of the open doors. I look forward to highly recommending this group and using them in the future!"

Doors questions, answered by experts

Yes, if you’re replacing a door slab, it must be the exact size of your existing door. If your new door is too small, you’ll need to purchase a new door to fit or hire a handyperson to make your frame smaller. Or if it's too big, you’ll need to return it or shave it down to fit.

Yes, they can enhance insulation by installing weather stripping and ensuring tight seals.

Inspecting your storm door regularly is important to catch any issues early and ensure its proper functionality. It's recommended to perform a thorough inspection at least once every season. This means you should check your storm door for any signs of wear, damage, or malfunction approximately four times per year—during spring, summer, fall, and winter.

While entryways are seldom added to a house to increase the sale price, they are commonly constructed to increase the livability and enjoyment of a home. So, while they aren’t necessary, they do make for a more comfortable and luxurious-feeling home. Entryways are most valuable in areas of extreme heat, cold, or rain, as the space between the living area and the outdoors helps keep the outdoors outside. Plus, snow, wet boots, and mud are all corralled into one space that’s easy to clean.

A prehung door is a door that comes ready to install, already mounted in its frame with hinges and stop molding included. Because everything is factory-aligned, installation is quicker, more precise, and convenient, as you don't need to drill or align the hinges yourself. This makes it a smart option if your current frame is damaged, uneven, or if you're working on a new build. Installation involves fitting the entire unit into the rough opening, shimming and leveling it, and then securing it. If you are replacing an existing prehung door, the process is even simpler, often just requiring you to swap the old unit for the new one and secure it with a few screws. Prehung doors typically cost only slightly more (around $20) than a door slab alone, making them an efficient choice.
