"I needed drywall seem repairs on a Gambrell bedroom ceiling. Eli called me soon after my inquiry and was able to schedule the job a week later. The quality of his work is very good. He finished what I needed in one day and left no mess at all. Eli told me he is a general handyman and can do many types of repairs. I recommend him."

"I like working with this company. Rob Blake, the owner, is very professional. I called him because a hot water heater problem had revealed that the foam from a 2011 job had not filled the cavity in the wall as thought during the 2011 job.  I did not know if this only applied to the water heater closet or to the entire cabin.
Rob's response to my call was "That's why you have a lifetime warranty!"  Wow.  Not used to that.  Rob came out the next day and crawled around under the cabin and poked wires into outlet cavities and showed me that the foam was only thin in the water heater closet, and given the construction of the closet, that made sense.  Rob wanted to schedule a return within a few days to fix the problem before the weather got cold.  I asked him to bid the top floor of my house to do at the same time.
The fix was free and the top floor of my house was 3200.  So altogether, I have spent $7100 with retrofoam, to insulate three houses; one about 750 square feet; one about 450 square feet and one about 4,000 square feet.
As with the first job, the workers were polite, professional, hardworking and very thorough. They were very nice about things like taking down a bird feeder for me - not part of their job at all, and they were happy to help me with it.  They do have to come inside to listen for something when certain walls are being injected; they were always very polite, wiped their feet and so on.  They worked from 8 to 5 every day, and they did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves.  The job was planned for two days but took three.  They were very inobtrusive with my renter whose water heater closet they redid.  In fact, they removed some fiberglass insulation near the water heater placed during the water heater repairs not only because it was ineffective but because the type that was there was a potential fire hazard (the paper side was near the water heater).  This is pretty typical of them; they have gone above and beyond on every job for me.  They really do work as if they were insulating their own homes.  Very nice.
The only almost-rough spot is that my cabin and my house had to be drilled right through the exterior siding, and after the holes were plugged, we needed to repaint the house.  The 750- square foot house needed to be painted anyway so I didn't mind, and I planned the big house job to coincide with a painting soon after because I remembered that from last time, and it also was due for a repainting.  Rob tells me that only five houses so far have had to be done this way; but I would ask him before the job if the house will need to be repainted as it would have been a pretty rude shock to not realize this ahead of time.  I understand that most jobs do not result in a repainting, this was about the type of siding we had on our houses.
In fact. Rob offered to supply the labor to restain the plugs to match the siding, but since we are repainting soon, we didn't see any need.
The insulation has been astonishingly effective.  Not only in retaining temperature, but also the houses are now so very quiet.  This has been an excellent investment in our house, and we are very happy with the outcome.  Also, this is a very professional, easy to deal with company.

"The team worked at my house for 2 days.  Day one, the blew insulation in the 10" of insulation in my attic and began installing R19 insulation in the floorboards. Day two, they completed the R19 insulation and ran the aeroseal through the ducts.  The guys did a great job.  Cleaned up after themselves, which my wife really appreciated, and my power bill has gone down drastically.  Just to provide some prospective, my January power bill was $525 in a 1900 SF house!!!  Since Energy Sharks came, my power bill has been less than $130 each month."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Wall anchors are suitable for drywall and plaster walls, which are common in most homes. However, different wall materials may require specialized anchors. For concrete or masonry walls, you'd typically use concrete anchors. When dealing with other wall types, such as brick or tile, specific anchors designed for those materials may be necessary. Always consult with a hardware specialist or check the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure you select the appropriate anchors for your specific wall type.

Knowing what causes drywall damage can help stop it before it starts. Here are some of the most common causes of drywall damage:

  • Water damage from roof leaks or leaky pipes.

  • Small holes caused by doorknobs, minor accidents, and rodent infestations.

  • Wall dents stemming from moving furniture and minor accidents.

  • Wall cracks that form from a settling foundation or seismic activity.

  • Nail pops from nails and screws in the walls.

  • Large holes that are caused by accidents with heavy objects, children and pets, or sporting equipment.

The best way to make long, straight cuts is to use a utility knife and a T-square to score the sheet, snap along the score, and then finish the cut by cutting through the paper on the opposite side with the utility knife. If you’re making small cuts, curved cuts, or cutouts for electrical boxes or light fixtures, you can use a manual jab saw to keep costs down, but an electric spiral saw or oscillating multi-tool will get the cleanest, fastest cuts possible.

Venetian plaster is a highly durable wall finish that becomes a rock-like substance once dried, making it last longer than most other wall finishes. Its lifespan can range from decades to centuries, potentially lasting a lifetime. Key factors influencing its longevity include the quality of the initial application, whether it's properly sealed against moisture, and how the wall is maintained and treated (e.g., how often it is touched or bumped). Due to its mineral content, it can also develop a patina over time.

A nail in drywall cannot hold very much—usually only a few pounds. A nail in a stud can add support and hold around 20 pounds. If you are trying to hang something heavier, get some help from drywall anchors—toggle bolts are very strong and able to withstand more weight.
