Customers say: True professional

"They did an outstanding job. I have an older home and some of the gutter systems are set up for newer construction. They custom designed frame work around our house that allowed for a secure framework to install the gutters on. He even went out of his way to test it several times with a hose to make sure everything worked well. I would highly recommend them and I definitely would hire them again."

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"Ken did an excellent job with our master bathroom remodel. He was kind, courteous, and a very skilled craftsman. I had purchased most of the supplies necessary to do the job. However, I made a few errors and Ken explained why the parts were incorrect and helped me to purchase the necessary parts to complete the job. We really appreciated a job well done! I have a few more projects ahead and Ken's the man for the job. Thanks Ken at Performance Contracting!"

"Very well! Matthew our assigned project manager was very thorough and respectful. He kept our property guarded! We had a few people pop by the house to "check" things out and he respected our home. He called to see if these people were allowed on the property. He and I traveled through the house where he showed me how the work was being conducted. He also showed me problem areas. And explained throughly how it would work. There were about 5 guys working in the dead heat of July! where days it was almost unbearable. I was onsite 2 days here and there where I provided beverages and popcicles to cool off. They were able to complete the work a day a head of schedule! Now that we're into November. I have to say that my floors feel fantastic. No bowing. No bouncing. Plus their work is Lifetime!! So if we ever feel a problem we know just who to call!"

Home Building questions, answered by experts

A major mistake during home building is skipping required permits, which leads to stop-work orders. Homeowners frequently underestimate the extensive site grading required for expansive red clay. Ignoring the wet summer season in SC causes severe moisture issues and delays. You must also verify property line setbacks before designing additions. Finally, South Carolina mandates soil treatments for termites before covering any new foundation work.

Helpful?

Check your foundation for signs of shifting, as the red clay soil in Clinton expands and contracts. Older homes feature outdated wiring and balloon framing that complicate home building. Inspect your crawl space for moisture damage caused by the humid climate. You must also verify if your property sits in a flood zone, which dictates specific elevation requirements for new construction. Always consult a professional for a structural assessment before starting work.

Helpful?

When planning home building, confirm whether your property falls under city or county jurisdiction, as inspection processes differ. You must follow strict wind load requirements to protect against severe weather and tornadoes in the Upstate SC region. Address the warm-humid climate zone standards by installing proper insulation and vapor barriers. Finally, check if your home sits in a historic district, which requires additional design reviews and strict architectural compliance.

Helpful?

Before starting home building, monitor your crawl space for standing water and deteriorating vapor barriers after heavy rains. Mark any drywall or brick cracks with a pencil and date to track active foundation movement. Visually inspect the ground around your home to ensure water drains away from the foundation. Review your county plat maps to understand property boundaries and easements. Call a professional if you spot growing cracks or poor drainage in Clinton.

Helpful?

During home building in Clinton, you must finalize the site plan to ensure your structure complies with zoning setbacks. Choose your foundation type early, as basements prove difficult in local clay soils. Select between municipal utility connections or private well and septic systems. You must also decide on insulation levels and window specifications to meet state energy codes. Finally, coordinate mandatory code inspections with your contractor to prevent project delays.
