"I am so grateful for Angie's List in this case because I called this plumber based on the reviews here. He took time to answer my many questions (I was considering all sorts of hot water heaters--tankless, traditional, hybrid, etc.--in the end, we went with a traditional one.) His price was better than competitors and he was responsive, professional, and did a fabulous job! Pleasant to work with and efficient."

Small jobs welcome

"Great Job! I had a very slow draining tub. After unsuccessfully attempting to unclog the drain with a coat hanger I made an appointment with Mr. Rooter Plumbing. Mark from Mr. Rooter soon found that the problem was an issue with the way the original drain pipes were put together which caused the pipe to eventually clog. Mark unclogged the pipe and corrected the original flaw by replacing some of the pipe system. Mark was very polite and professional. He was careful to put shoe covers on whenever he came inside.
I am so glad that I called Mr. Rooter Plumbing. If I ever need a plumber in the future I will not hesitate to call Mr. Rooter Plumbing again.

"These guys came when they said they would, looked everything over completely before giving me a price to do the work. They did the work quickly and made repairs over and above what was needed because they felt it was necessary and didn't change the price quoted. They cleaned the site up completely and were exceptionally friendly. I highly recommend these plumbers to anyone."

"When I reached out to Jonathan ( the owner ), he immediately responded as always. I have used Jonathan and his wife Rachel for years as one of our Vendors in underground cable construction. This team has been an outstanding partner and been one of the most reliable and friendly group to work with. I could not recommend this company more. I will continue to use them for all of my electrical and plumbing needs."

"I have never worked with more intelligent, professional, and kind experts. He communicated beautifully and always answered questions with knowledge and ease. I tried for 4 years to find a plumber that would fix a horrible problem that a terrible contractor created and this was the first plumber that knew exactly what to do. I am so grateful and impressed. I trust them and will continue to call on only them for plumbing. Thank you!!!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Knowing your home's construction era is essential, as pre-1970s Clemson properties feature older cast iron or galvanized pipes. Identify your foundation type, since crawlspaces expose plumbing lines to temperature swings. Note the soil composition; Upstate SC red clay retains moisture and shifts, stressing underground pipes. Finally, check your water source, as private wells require different pressure and treatment considerations than municipal water.

Helpful?

Watch for slow drains across multiple fixtures, which indicate severe root intrusion in your main sewer line. Persistent wet spots in your yard point to underground leaks trapped by Clemson clay soils. Sulfur odors near your crawlspace signal a failed drain joint. Additionally, rust-tinted water reveals systemic pipe corrosion. If your water meter moves while fixtures are off, you have an active plumbing leak requiring immediate attention.

Helpful?

Delaying plumbing repairs creates severe structural and health hazards. In Clemson, unaddressed leaks in red clay soil cause rapid erosion and foundation displacement. Postponing winterization leads directly to burst pipes during hard freezes. Ignoring slow drains allows tree roots to destroy aging sewer laterals entirely. Furthermore, the warm South Carolina climate accelerates mold growth from hidden moisture, turning minor leaks into extensive water damage.

Helpful?

Always close out your final permit inspections to keep your property records clear. If your plumbing project involved service lines, update your records with the local utility. Reassess your crawlspace vapor barrier, as disturbed insulation worsens moisture issues in the humid SC climate. Finally, inspect exterior pipe insulation before winter arrives, since Clemson experiences periodic hard freezes that threaten exposed lines.

Helpful?

Thorough plumbing work always begins with proper permits and a final inspection sign-off on record. Correct installations comply with South Carolina state code standards for pipe sizing and venting. Verify that a licensed professional completed the project. For supply lines, request pressure test documentation to confirm leak-free connections. Additionally, proper installations include compliant backflow preventers to protect the local water supply from contamination.
