"I am beyond impressed with the services I received from this company. Mike Korzeniewski ground the stump in my yard and pulled up the roots. He is a trustworthy, honest, hardworking man. He responded quickly to my call and showed up punctually. I definitely recommend his services for those that need trees removed and stumps ground. I will definitely hire him again if needed in the future. Very reasonably priced with amazing work ethic."

"My experience with Tree Works was excellent from the start. Daniel's response with a quote was quick. He communicated with me every step of the way. I am an absent homeowner. My tenant said that he was very courteous. The pictures that she sent me after the work was finished showed that all 12 of the trees were gone and all of the debris was cleaned up. I thought that Daniel had given me a fair price for the amount of work that he had to do."

"Excellent and Professional services provided!! John was courteous and took the time to during his assessment of the job needed to point out additional trees that will need to be removed due to lightning strikes that has rotting bases. Courteous to call ahead and reschedule to inclement weather delays. You could not tell that there was heavy equipment on my yard when they left and wouldn't know that I had a tree removed. Very professional Clean up! Thank you John, Crystal, and your Team!"

"Just Trees is the only tree company I will use. Frank and his crew are extremely knowledgeable and professional, but a big standout is his attention to safety, not only for personnel, but also the property of the home owner. I will not shop around, even if I have to wait for Just Trees to have an opening."

"True gentlemen with tremendous skills I have hired them on three different occasions over several years to remove a dying tree, big limbs, etc. Each time, their price was reasonable, and the team was excellent. The tree surgeon is expert, precise, and careful it is like watching a medical surgeon; he avoids dropping pieces where they can damage nearby camellias, azaleas, and hemlocks; works with ropes and precision in tandem with the team below; and is careful with landed pieces, quickly organizing and then cleaning up completely afterward. I trust them and enjoy seeing them each time!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The felling notch you make before you make the final cut will determine which way the tree will fall. The cut will be in a wedge or triangle, and the tree will fall from the highest point of the triangle. You can use this, as well as the process described above, to estimate where a tree will fall.

Most tree surgeons cost around $100 per hour or between $70 and $200 per hour for their services. You might get flat fees for more straightforward services, like a tree assessment, tree removal, stump grinding, and one-off treatments, but many times, treatments for tree diseases or pests will be charged based on an hourly rate or a per-visit rate. Since the cost of a tree surgeon can vary widely, it’s best to speak with an arborist near you to get an idea of what your particular issue will cost to correct.

For safety reasons, leaning trees are best removed by a professional, as they may often tear away from the hinge, causing you to lose control over where the tree falls. If you choose to cut down a tree leaning slightly, avoid cutting off root protrusions before you start. Make your hinge a little longer than usual by cutting it deeper (up to 30% of the diameter) and applying a wedge into the felling cut on the side the tree is leaning. Stand away from the direction the tree leans while making your felling cut.

Leaving a dead tree can expose your other trees to potential diseases, pests, and fungi, and it can also be a hazard. If your tree is dead, then you should hire a tree maintenance service to remove it. Cutting down trees is extremely dangerous, and a professional can ensure no one gets hurt and there is no damage to your property. Tree removal costs between $200 and $2,000 and will prevent future issues and keep you and your property safe.

If you’re planning on keeping the tree, unless the roots are invasive, there’s no need to remove them, as doing so can cause damage to the tree. If the tree has been cut down and the stump and roots are left, grinding and removing the stump can cause root decay for some species. For other species, the stump and roots will need to be removed to prevent pests, disease, and possible tree regrowth.
