"Tiled a side porch for me. Very professional and helpful salesperson. Quick estimate within my budget; told me exactly what supplies I needed to purchase; came on time for all scheduled appointments; did a great job with installation and cleaned up all work areas before leaving ! All persons I dealt with were most kind and courteous. Fran Woods"

"Brandon and Haley with Quality Flooring and renovations did an outstanding job renovating our powder room. They came and worked in our home on a holiday and delivered as promised. The old wood was replaced with new wood. They installed a new toilet and new sink and our powder room looks magnificent. Can’t recommend this company high enough! Call them today!"

"Over the span of several years we had many remodeling projects were expertly done on our 67 y/old home by Del Phillips. Some of the projects we had done included a complete master bathroom and bedroom remodel, elimination of popcorn ceilings, installation of crown molding, wainscoting and chair railing. Also, construction of a new 12' x 12' deck complete with metal railing. Metal railings were added to the home's front and side entrances for better safety. Beautiful porcelain tile"

"Jimmy and Steven were excellent. There was a reminder text message the day before they were due to come and they called the morning scheduled and actually arrived early. They did a great job and were very personable and helpful. They did a few extras as well, without charge. Would definitely use them again!"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

The rule tells you how to cut tile to install it in a corner. The 3/4/5 rule recommends that you should have 3 feet across on one straight line, four feet on the other perpendicular line, and 5 feet of length from the end of one of the lines to the other. You’re making a right triangle with the tile, and the hypotenuse (the line across from where the 3-foot lie and 4-foot line meet) should be 5 feet long.

Like glass tiles, you will not need to seal most porcelain tiles, particularly if the porcelain is already glazed. It depends on quality. Porcelain is very water resistant, but it is not 100% waterproof. To avoid staining, some homeowners use a penetrating sealer. It is also a good idea to seal your grout. Unless you use epoxy grout, grout is very porous and can harbor bacteria, mold, and mildew.

Generally speaking, it is better to cut tile wet when using a fast-moving wet saw to reduce dust and chipping. However, tile can be cut dry when using just about any cutting tool. Dry cutting will result in a bigger mess and may increase the risk of chipping or cracking, but if you’re just making small cuts, dry cutting is a safe and viable option. Cutting dry also means you can apply tile grout sooner, so it’s better for rushed projects.

A quality shower tiling project is a bathroom upgrade that can increase resale value. Bathroom remodels have the highest return on investments for any home update. Tiling a shower won’t offer the potential 70% ROI that a full bathroom remodel involving upgrading fixtures, installing storage, and a complete room retile will. However, you can expect an average return of 55% to 60% for this refresh.

Yes, but you’ll have to use some other type of tool to avoid damaging the tile and possibly injuring yourself. Some alternatives to tile cutters include a glass cutter, angle grinder, and wet saw. Depending on the tile material, you might simply be able to measure and score it with something sharp, like a carbide-tipped pencil, and break it off. Be sure to sand the edge for a smooth installation.
