"My cabinets exceeded all expectations! Adam and Bob did a wonderful job from start to finish. I now have my dream kitchen and could not be happier. The best decision I made was having them build my cabinets."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"I had repeated problems with vinyl siding on my house coming off at the top and had another contractor fix the same problem the year before and it stayed up for less than a year. I spoke with Christian about the problem and he took the time to do the job right as well as fix a couple of bulges I had elsewhere in the siding."

"Champagne Taste and Design completed multiple projects at our home and my wife and I couldnâ t be happier with the outcome. From design implementation to the finished product, Diana in Bronson were with us every step of the way. Besides every project that Diana and Bronson touch turning to gold, they are both two very cool people that you will probably want to become friends with. When Diana and Bronson were in Arizona, they were booked out six months in advance, and I think that speaks volumes, because EVERYBODY wanted them to handle their project."

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

Most services include custom cuts and edge treatments to fit your space. Confirm with your provider.

If you’re brave enough to tackle building your own cabinet bases, you’re brave enough to install them yourself. You’ll need a stud finder to get you started, but the installation will be a breeze if you’ve already done all the hard work to build the cabinet bases yourself. If you’re hanging upper cabinets, you’ll need a helper, though, to balance the weight of the cabinets and make the process easier.

While having an assistant to help ensure safety and to lend a hand is desirable, if someone isn't around to assist, you can install kitchen cabinets on your own. Normal kitchen cabinet installation starts with the upper wall cabinets. If you're working on your own, consider installing the bases first and building a temporary support structure on top of them to help you install the uppers.

Custom cabinets made from solid wood tend to last the longest, remaining in good condition for 20 to 50 years. Cabinet lifespan depends on upkeep, the amount of heat and moisture inside the home, and general wear and tear. Popular hardwood options include oak, cherry, maple, walnut, and hickory. Its longevity means that solid wood is more expensive than alternative materials like furniture board, laminate, and plywood. The average cost of solid wood cabinets ranges from $100 to $1,200 per linear foot.

While a three-inch center-to-center handle is common, there’s no guarantee that sizing will be the same for every cabinet. Different types of handles have different sized holes to attach them and there are lots of different cabinet handle widths and styles. You should measure to be sure you know the size of a handle and to avoid surprises.
