"My home is the roosing place for a large flock of Vultures and despite all of my efforts I had not been able to deter them from camping out on my roof. They were tearing things up on the property an leaving poop everywhere. As a result I have become known as the Vulture Lady. I contacted three pest control vendors and two looked at my problem then never came back or provided a quote. Tim on the other hand let me know that this would be no problem. He took the time to educate me about the fedral protection that these birds enjoy and how not to violate that protection. Two solutions were proposed. A propain canon and roof spikes. Tim was understanding when I rejected the canon despite the fact that it did get rid of the birds. We then installed the spikes and problem solved. Thanks Tim for working with me through this process."

"I called Justin Ludy, the owner of Palmetto Wildlife Extractors, based on a recommendation from the pest company I have used for many years.  We made an appointment.  During the time they were to be at our house they had an emergency call that required more time and manpower and they were not able to keep our original appointment date.  Justin told his Michael, one of his employees, to make another appointment and correct our problem without charging.  The work was completed very well.  I later called Justin to send him a fee but he refused and made the work a gift since he said they had disrupted my day when the original appointment was not kept.  I certainly appreciated his professinalism and concern for his customers.

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Groundhogs usually keep their cool despite being easily spooked. However, there are exceptions—they might get defensive or territorial if they feel threatened or overly concerned. If they sense a threat to their babies, they could get feisty, too. These wild animals are not meant to be kept as pets. If you find babies or an injured groundhog, contact your local animal rescue or wildlife service for guidance.

There aren’t any solutions that can rid your yard of mosquitoes for good. But with a good integrated management strategy that combines repellents, treatments, decluttering, and drainage, you can keep populations in check.

It is very difficult to remove a colony entirely without using some kind of insecticide. However, some treatments are safer than others. Diatomaceous earth is a non-toxic powder application that creates barriers that insects can’t pass through. Some pest control companies offer liquid nitrogen treatments to freeze out termites without using pesticides. Some chemical treatments are safer to use around plants, water, and wildlife than others. Bait stations are generally less damaging to the environment than sprayed termiticides.

Squirrels hate not having access to secure shelter or food sources. Your best line of defense is to make your property less attractive by removing access to these things. There are chemical squirrel repellents, but these have mixed success. According to Pennsylvania State University, you can apply products containing the bittering agent denatonium saccharide to a squirrel's favorite fence, tree, or roof spots. However, you need to reapply repellents regularly, which aren’t scientifically proven effective.

You should never block both the top and bottom of your chimney. Proper airflow is essential because the temperature inside the chimney will still fluctuate as your house warms and cools. Moisture can build up without ventilation, leading to dampness in your walls over time. Blocking the top prevents debris and animals from entering, but the chimney still needs air circulation to avoid condensation issues. Allowing the chimney to breathe maintains the health of your home and prevents long-term damage.
