"Bedford Builders was amazing from the start until the finish of our bathroom remodeling project. Bob guided us through picking out all the products and fixtures, connecting us to experts with quality products. He walked us through the entire process. Bob and Caleb were professional, always timely and respectful, and were attentive to each and every detail They cleaned the site each and every night and always checked in to answer our questions and keep us up to date about the next day’s plan. They made our first home renovation a success! We are so pleased with the outcome."

"The difference is incredible. I have yet to send in the water test post installation, but just by feel and taste I can tell there is a drastic difference. It wasn't a cheap project but I feel like I got what I paid for. Crew was professional and nice and the installation was tight and methodical - and that's what I wanted. I recommend with complete confidence."

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

In the event of suspected or confirmed asbestos contamination on the body, it is imperative to take immediate measures to reduce health risks. To avoid further exposure, carefully remove contaminated clothing and shower thoroughly to remove any asbestos fibers. Seek prompt medical attention, and inform your healthcare professional about your suspected asbestos exposure. Since asbestos-related health issues can take years to surface, regular medical check-ups are advised for anyone with a history of exposure.

Homes built before the 1990s may contain asbestos, but the only way to be sure is to have your home tested. Hire an asbestos testing and removal service to determine whether you have the hazardous material in your home and the best process for removing or sealing it.

If you hire a dedicated asbestos inspector near you in addition to your local home inspector, it will cost between $200 and $800. If, however, your general home inspector happens to be certified as an asbestos inspector, they can charge you a smaller fee and tack on the cost to the home inspection. In general, home inspectors do not do physical testing, but will provide a visual assessment so you know what you are working with.

If you own a stereo microscope, you should be able to see the fibers. The stereo microscope often can perform magnification up to 50x. But unless you have experience viewing asbestos fibers, you may not know exactly what you are seeing. Some fibers are curly, while others are long and straight. Blue, brown, white, and gray colored fibers are all possible.

Epoxying over asbestos tiles is generally considered a safe option when done correctly. Epoxy acts as a sealant, encapsulating the asbestos tiles and preventing the release of asbestos fibers into the air. The key is ensuring that the asbestos tiles are in good condition, firmly adhered to the substrate, and not damaged or deteriorating. This method is only appropriate for tiles that are undamaged and securely in place. If the asbestos tiles are already loose, damaged, or deteriorating, encapsulating them with epoxy may not be a sufficient solution, as it might not address the potential for ongoing asbestos exposure.
