"I asked for many quotes on home advisor for my very small job. I’ve learned that given my small house small jobs are both expensive and hard to get quality people to even consider them. Kyle not only called right away but also offered to come look at my project the same day within an hour. He did an amazing job repairing my drywall which I honestly thought I would need to replace it was so damaged from tile and oven hood removal. He was professional, on time, respectful, and cleaned up to a degree I have not had an experience with in the past with other contractors. I would highly recommend him!"

"Nestaly and Edwin did a great job replacing an exterior wooden staircase and metal railing system with a Trex solution that is both beautiful and solid as a rock. They were here at 8 AM both days and cleaned the debris up afterward. Wonderful people and company to have working with me on this project. Skimming, on the other hand, is a technique that involves applying a thin layer of drywall compound or joint compound over an existing surface to smooth it out, covering minor imperfections, small cracks, or uneven textures for a polished look. Plastering is generally more costly and labor-intensive than skimming. Although some people use the terms interchangeably, they refer to different processes and materials.

Whether you need a drywall anchor depends on the specifics of your project, particularly what you're hanging and where. You do not need a drywall anchor if you can screw or nail the object directly into a wooden stud, as the wood provides sufficient support and stability. However, if there are no studs in the location where you plan to hang the item, you should use drywall anchors to ensure it is securely supported. For very lightweight objects, like small pictures, adhesive picture hanging strips can be a suitable alternative to anchors.

Plaster provides a durable, soundproof, and moisture-resistant finish compared to drywall.

The two most common drywall thicknesses for ceilings are 1/2-inch and 5/8-inch. For most standard residential applications, 1/2-inch drywall is sufficient and widely used. It provides adequate support and is lighter and easier to handle during installation compared to thicker sheets. However, 5/8-inch drywall is often used for specific cases where additional benefits are needed. It is heavier but provides superior sound dampening and fire resistance. You should consider using 5/8-inch drywall for ceilings in commercial buildings, between a garage and a living space, or above a finished basement to meet building codes or for enhanced soundproofing.
