"Contacted S&S via Angies List to get a quote on some electrical work. Scott and his team were very responsive and helpful. It turns out that I did not use S&S for this work at this time, but I wanted to comment favorably on their customer service. Would consider them for future work and recommend others consider them."

Customers say: Quick response

"Had a Tornado hit my house and ripped out my mains power. Figured I'd upgrade the panel while I was at it and have a generator outlet installed for when I lose power again. Nick was VERY professional - gave me a quote, showed up on time, answered all of my questions, and the price was exactly where I expected it to be. Job was very well done. When the power went back on, my fridge didn't have power. He helped me pull the fridge out to find a GFI outlet, and he helped me reset it. Was really just a huge help! The guy is clearly a hard worker who really knows what he's doing. What I love is that I didn't talk to a sales guy who then sent a couple of kids to do the job. I got a quote, and the guy I spoke to did the work. That's awesome. I can't recommend this guy highly enough! Will reach out for any and all electrical work in the future."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Coventry, signs like buzzing outlets, inconsistent power to appliances, or lights dimming when large devices start up suggest underlying electrical issues. Outdated breaker panels, missing grounding, or tangled wiring in junction boxes are also warning signs. If you notice discoloration on outlets or persistent tripped breakers after storms, it’s wise to have a licensed electrician inspect your system for safety and code compliance.

Helpful?

Coventry’s humid summers and cold winters mean that electrical components should be rated for moisture resistance and temperature fluctuations. For outdoor projects, weather-sealed enclosures and corrosion-resistant wiring are essential. Homes with basements may benefit from sump pump backup systems on dedicated circuits. Seasonal storms can cause outages, so battery backup solutions for essential circuits are a practical addition for local homeowners.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Coventry are embracing home automation, including programmable lighting controls, voice-activated systems, and integrated security cameras. Panel upgrades to support increased electrical loads are also trending, especially with more people working from home. Energy efficiency upgrades, such as dimmable LED fixtures and motion-sensor outdoor lighting, are in demand. Additionally, built-in USB outlets and dedicated circuits for home offices are gaining popularity for convenience and safety.

Helpful?

Electrical upgrades in Coventry can impact interconnected systems like home automation, HVAC zoning, or water filtration units. Before starting a project, review your home’s electrical load and consult with your contractor about potential impacts on appliances or smart home hubs. If you have a home office or medical equipment, ensure circuits are isolated to prevent disruptions during upgrades or maintenance.

Helpful?

After finishing electrical work in Coventry, it’s important to test all new installations, especially smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Update your home’s electrical panel directory to reflect any changes. Schedule a maintenance check for interconnected systems like HVAC or sump pumps. Store all installation and warranty documents in a safe place, and consider setting reminders for periodic testing of safety devices and surge protectors.
