HVAC maintenance is crucial for the longevity of your unit. Without proper care, your HVAC unit can break down frequently. In addition, a system that is dirty and not cleaned correctly will not heat or cool as efficiently and will increase your energy bills due to the increase in energy consumption. Additionally, you will probably have to replace your unit sooner than you would if it were properly maintained, which will cost you more money. 

Look up your model number online to find additional information. Usually, you can just take a look at the old filter and find the brand name and dimensions to order a new one. When replacing the filter, always check that it’s pointed the right way to match the direction of your airflow. Many filters have arrows on them to help with this step.

If the air coming from your AC unit is cool but never quite cold, there are a few reasons this might be happening. For starters, it could signal that your refrigerant levels are low. If there are no other indications of this particular issue, like hissing noises or frozen refrigerant lines, anything from dirty filters to damaged condenser or evaporator coils could be responsible for the problem.

You reset your AC after a power outage by turning off the air conditioner from the thermostat, resetting the circuit breaker, waiting 30 minutes, turning on the AC from the thermostat, and waiting 10 minutes to see the impact. Sometimes, with a power outage, the AC needs time to reset itself, so resetting the circuit breaker alone may not do the trick. 

Both evaporator coils and condenser coils are recyclable and contain valuable, sellable metals such as copper and aluminum. Not only is it more earth-friendly to take them to a local metal recycling facility, but you can also trade them in for cash. Also, once the coils are removed from the system, they won’t have any traces of refrigerant, so you won’t have to arrange for recycling Freon or R-410A unless you’re disposing of the entire AC system.
