My other concern is how the service tech left the dryer vent curled up and partially crushed as he put the dryer back in place, and then took this picture to display it. It would seem obvious that once you saw the vent like that you would correct it. Not happy with that."

They could have left right there since their job was done, but they kept working until they eventually found the issue. They again could have left it up to another professional to finish the job, but they went above and beyond and solved my problem without hesitation. Now the basement is clear and the smell is gone.
