"I wanted to clean a second floor dryer vent hose that was loaded solid with lint. It was worse than I thought! Packed solid! It became evident that this was a messy and dangerous situation as it was a fire hazard. Through Angi I found Everclean and the co. was a perfect fit. HVAC companies don’t do dryer vents. Justin from Everclean was awesome and got the problem straightened out. He even discovered the dryer vent had become disconnected from outside dryer vent door! I can’t fit through the narrow attic hatchway as my shoulders are a bit too wide, so I depended on Justin. Finally, everything is buttoned up, and our clothes now dry in half the time. Cost was moderate and was money well invested. Dryer vent fire danger is now negligible compared to before. Along with neighbor hatred danger. I would hire Everclean again if needed again."

"Superior Comfort has a superior team. Zoher Zach Hariri recently handled our seasonal service. He did an excellent job. He is clearly an exceptional technician. In addition, it shows that he cares in customer satisfaction. Superior designed and installed our entire HVAC system a few years ago. It works great and they do a fine job keeping it working great."

"Mike and his team at Premier are exceptional. I hired them to remove the old oil burner and window air conditioners and replace them with heat pump systems. I received quotes from several companies but Mike and Premier were the only ones who offered me options based on their extensive expertise. It was clear from the beginning that they were skilled and knowledgeable about all aspects of HVAC. Iâ m very pleased with their installation and subsequent support with respect to filter change etc."

"MTS came to repair our AC system when it went out in the middle of the night. They were able to address our low refrigerant and flooded basin quickly and efficiently. Even though this is an incredibly busy time for HVAC techs, they were always responsive. When the issue in our system turned out to be a bigger problem, they were flexible with the work that had already been done. We'd be glad to work with MTS again in the future."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

It depends on the specifics of your warranty. The motor is likely not covered if you’re working with a limited warranty. The same goes for other components like the compressor and evaporator coil. Some extended warranties will cover the blower and fan motor, so read the fine print before signing up. Additionally, the manufacturer may offer a warranty for the parts, including the motor, though there’s likely to be a strict time limit for this coverage.

The cost to add Freon to an AC ranges from $100 to $350. It can increase up to $600 for large AC units requiring much more coolant. The cost also depends on how much refrigerant your unit needs. If only a small amount of Freon leaked out, your cost would be on the lower side. A complete replacement of all the required refrigerant can get expensive.

A one-stage air conditioner only has one setting, while a two-stage air conditioner has a high and low setting. A two-stage air conditioner costs between $500 and $2,500 more than a traditional air conditioner, but it has a longer lifespan and helps to increase energy efficiency. To make this decision, you should consider your energy needs and available budget.

No, it's not safe to keep using your unit when it's frozen. Not only can running a frozen unit lead to damage, but it can also potentially overheat, making it a fire hazard. Therefore, it's always best to turn off the AC unit as soon as you notice any ice.

The length of an AC cycle depends on the settings in your thermostat and the unit you have. Central AC doesn't constantly run at full blast the way that a window unit does. A cooling cycle in most homes is 15 to 20 minutes. Then, the unit stays off for seven to 10 minutes to circulate the cold air in the house before the cycle repeats. It should repeat two or three times per hour. A short cycle lasts less than 10 minutes and then turns off.
