"I consider excellent contractors like excellent doctors, lawyers, etc. Once you find one that you trust you keep on your rolodex and never look elsewhere. Moonlight Electric is one of these companies. I found through Angie's List and originally called due to an outlet at my mom's house not functioning but wanted to kill two birds with one stone so asked for an emergency generator quote when they came to fix outlet. Brad came to her house to look at outlet. Outlet was not receiving any electricity so he went to electrical panel - to my dismay the wire casing around one of the jumped wires had melted so when he quoted new emergency generator he also quoted replacing electrical panel. Thursday, August 9th the electrical panel and emergency generator were done (started at 7:30 am and were done around 5:30 pm - worked through lunch). Both were done to perfection by Brad, Pat and Tyler. These gentlemen were courteous, paid close attention to detail and answered any questions I had during the install. They also went over how everything ran prior to leaving. I was also impressed by Brad's very quick response time the morning of August 10th when my mom did not have any hot water coming from her on-demand hot water tank. I texted him at 7:53 am and by 9:41 am she was up and running again (gas lines needed to be bled). Would call them again and will recommend them to everyone I know that lives in this area. On a side note: I live in Cleveland and had the same work done at my house last year with same size generator and the price was about the same ! I am including two pictures of before and after regarding the electrical panel so you can see for yourself the quality of their work."

You can determine what size generator you need for a transfer switch by matching the switch to the largest outlet on your generator. Larger generators can power up to 10 circuits, while most 5,000-watt generators can provide power to six circuits. So, if your generator’s largest outlet is 30 amps, you’ll need a 30-amp transfer switch.
