I was so impressed with him that I have hired him for 5 other jobs. He goes above and beyond. Sometimes he'll tie in small jobs into the larger project. I wish all contractors were like him. Paver patios are often considered the most durable option. Expensive options include pavers of natural stone like granite, and more affordable choices include concrete and brick. All these materials are weather-resistant and are easy to replace individually if damaged. When installed over a well-compacted base and maintained correctly, paver patios can last 50 years or more, making them a long-lasting outdoor choice.

If you used regular jointing sand, you can typically walk on the repaired area right away. If you used polymeric sand, wait at least 24 hours before walking on it and 48 to 72 hours before driving over it, depending on the weather. Polymeric sand needs time to fully cure and lock the pavers in place.

Depending on the finish and area size, costs range from $3 to $10 per square foot. Decorative finishes increase costs.

Standard residential stair treads need to be at least 1 inch thick. Open staircases without risers must be at least 1-1/2 inches thick. 

Concrete should be at least 4 inches thick for steps. This thickness boosts stability and prevents cracking and deterioration. After you’ve built your forms out of wood, fill the void with a sand or gravel base for concrete. Use an all-purpose concrete mix to form your steps. After pouring your concrete steps, be sure to screed and float the concrete.
