"Colibri Construction is a hidden gem of a contractor. Abi was very professional in his communication and detail of his work. He was very knowledgeable which brought me comfort that my basement would turn out amazing and it was. The paint detail alone was impeccable as well as the placement of the flooring. I have had many contractors in my 25 years as a home owner and can honestly say I was the most satisfied with Colibri Construction. Abi kept me informed every step of the way to make sure I was happy with his process. He goes out of his way to make sure you save as much as possible on supplies and labor. He was the most honest and genuine person for the job. Calibri Construction is A ++++"

"Do you want your walls to wow? Then Rob and Andy are your guys. When we had the harebrained idea to Venetian plaster most of our downstairs, Surface Pro was the only place we considered. They guided us through the process of choosing colors a techniques, and finishes. When it came time for the job, they were prompt, professional, and remarkably speedy. The result is nothing short of art. Even my mother-in-law is happy. Rob and Andy are a one-stop shop for all your surfacing needs. They painted several rooms, all of our trim, and even refinished our stairs, bringing out the hidden beauty of the wood. Stop looking for painters and plasterers. You've found them."

"Michael's Brick Pointing suspected an improper job by the builder. They discovered and fixed a large section of our stucco wall and repointed some loose bricks in another area. It looks great! We haven't gotten any rain yet so that will be the test, but we were satisfied. They had a 4 man team and were professional, they cleaned up their work to our satisfaction."

"John is a very meticulous, hard working man. He made sure everything he did was to my satisfaction. He always cleaned up after each days work. He was able to repair the stucco, replace rotted trim, power wash the old paint off and paint the entire exterior. It was a great experience."

"This was a very involved plaster repair and remediation job, in a very old house. Grady is the only person (or company) who was willing to take on the job and drive all the way from Pennsylvania to our home in Northern Virginia. There are very few people who do this kind of work anymore (we really searched) and he is an expert in his field. We needed to work around his schedule, because he is in demand in the tri-state area, so it took awhile to schedule the work to begin... but it was worth it."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can screw directly into stucco. Only do so if the item you are installing is a permanent fixture. Drill a pilot hole into the stucco using a masonry or concrete bit, then drive in the screw with a power drill or screwdriver.

Costs range from $500 to $2,000, depending on the damage size and texture matching.

Stucco is durable, energy-efficient, and low-maintenance, making it a popular choice for exterior finishes.

One of the most significant downsides to stucco is the installation cost, which is higher than that of many other siding options because getting it to look clean and professional is a labor-intensive process. Stucco can also absorb water, making it an unsuitable option for siding in areas that see excessive rainfall. Finally, stucco can crack and chip, especially in extreme weather, and repairs are not only challenging and require help from a professional who does stucco, but can get expensive.

Several clues suggest that your stucco is damaged or has underlying issues. Visual clues include discoloration, cracks, indentations, broken caulking, or visible mold. If you touch your stucco and feel any soft spots, that could also indicate a problem. If you notice any of these concerns, call in an inspector who can confirm your suspicions and help provide solutions.
