"Had a large stump & roots beneath grade.  Animals couldn't stop digging into it, and the sinkholes were a mess.  Pierce gave me an initial quote, but I wanted him to excavate well beyond the stump to make sure (if needed).  The full job, with my extra request, was to run about $1,400.  It was supposed to include grading of the surface with premium topsoil.
They came and did the job, but they only did the stump diameter (about 6 ft).  Pierce said they didn't feel we needed to go further.  Also said they didn't need any topsoil.  Said the area might settle a little as we go forward, and may need to add some soil in the future.  I thought that was a little odd, since that should have been anticipated with the original estimate.  So, I held off on this review to see how it would go.
It's been a few months, and things are going great.  Caught a vole digging out there the day after the job, but they must have realized the difference.  Haven't had an animal hole or sinking spot since.  I still think there might have been a mix up with the crew and the topsoil, but nonetheless, Pierce quickly took that amount off of the job.  He gives a great cash discount and, at the time at least, an Angie's list discount.  The whole thing cost only $500.
All in all, Pierce was very professional and responsive.  He is very quick to get back to you, and very prompt with the service.  He could have very easily done an inflated job at my request, rather he was very quick to give money back to me and say, "you didn't need that".  Had I known I could have corrected the major issue in my back yard for that price, I would have called Pierce a long time ago.  I would definitly use him again."

"Atila and his team were great to work with from the first meeting.  On time, timely estimate, great price.    He was present and working with his team just about all the time.  This was a huge job.  It was completed from first excavation to final finishing touches in 8 work days and if I recall there was some off time due to rain.  Atila did a great job grading driveway and patio away from the house.  This company does not see obstacles, they see resolutions.  Most of the concrete work was regular concrete, except for the patio.  That is stamped concrete and Atila et el used perfect blending colors and finishing.  We love it!!!  He is very creative, with a great eye to design.  We have gotten so many compliments on all the work.  His attention to detail, fine finishing, clean-up and can-do work ethic is much appreciate by this home owner. And in case anyone is wondering, no, we had no relationship with this company or any of its workers prior to this job.

"My. Husband and I had a great experience hiring Rocklynn. We needed an old concrete garage floor taken up and hauled away. We spoke to Joe who came over on the same day and gave us a quote. 2 days later Rocklynn was here with an excavator and it was done in less than 2 hrs. Excellent customer service. The quote was fair and it wasnâ t a penny more. We will definitely hire the company again in the future."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

You can dig 60 to 80 linear feet by hand per day depending on the depth. Digging a 100-foot trench by hand will take you two work days, but it can take longer if you have heavy or rocky soil. If you’re digging a deep trench or one that’s over 100 feet, consider renting a mechanical trencher, such as a walk-behind or ride-on, or calling a pro for help.

There are several different factors that influence how long it takes to excavate. For a foundation, it could take anywhere from three days to three weeks. It can take even longer if you face weather-related delays or an inaccessible site that’s riddled with boulders and rough terrain. It may also take longer if you have clay soil, which is more difficult to dig.

Completion time ranges from days to weeks, contingent on project size, environmental conditions, and regulatory approvals.

Yes, most services include site leveling and foundation work. Confirm with your contractor for specifics.

Concrete blocks are the cheapest way to base a shed. However, the space in between allows critters to go under, burrow, and even damage your shed’s frame. For a more pest-proof option, consider building a shed base with gravel or paver stones. Both options are fairly affordable and easy enough for a DIY project. For gravel, you can build a wooden frame to contain the loose material.
