"Kruljac removed trees from my property that were in danger of damaging my house. They performed an expert extraction of several very large trees, causing no collateral damage in the process. They arrived on time, cleaned up after they were done, and worked quickly. They are a team of bright and conscientious individuals. In addition, they are certified arborists and provided helpful information about the nature of remaining trees and plants. Highly recommended."

"We had an urgent situation in that the large (approx 60 ft high) locust tree in our back yard was severely leaning over the street.  It looked like it might fall down with the next storm.  I got estimates from a few other tree services who insisted that it was necessary to use a crane to hold the tree up while they cut it down.  Emery said they could do it just with their bucket truck and that they could do it two days later.  True to their promise, they showed up two days later and in two hours the tree was down, without the use of a crane.  The tree didn't move while they took it down.  Their price was 1/3 that of the other tree services.   They did an excellent job, cleaning up afterward and taking all tree pieces with them.

"They were excellent! I loved the fact that the owner, Derrick, came out to give us a quote soon after I called him. Also, he wrote a detailed quote right on the spot. They were very professional and polite. We added additional work as they were doing our yard and they were so accommodating to take care of our needs. Took 3 trees down, bushes out and weed eated a bank that was so nasty! I have more work for them at another location. I recommend them To my granddaughter so that should tell you a lot! Very wonderful experience! They were very reasonably priced too! Thanks Derrick and crew for doing an amazing job!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

You can shape a cherry tree by trimming vertical branches, dense branches, and intersecting branches. Your personal aesthetic comes into play, as well. If you want to simply thin and shape the tree, you can get away with trimming the aforementioned parts of your cherry tree. If you want to shorten branches, however, consider thinning cuts, which alter the length of the branches while encouraging light penetration, new buds and shoots, and a structurally-sound shape.

A general rule is that trees need 10 gallons of water for each inch of the tree’s diameter. For large trees, that can amount to approximately 160 gallons of water or more. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.

In most cases, your neighbor is responsible for roots from their tree that cause damage to your property. If your pavement, the foundation of your home, or a fence is damaged by roots from a neighbor’s tree, you likely will have legal recourse for financial relief. While it’s better to notify your neighbor of any problems you notice as soon as they arise to avoid costly damage, there are some instances where filing a civil suit is your only recourse. Your homeowner’s insurance company might wish to do so on your behalf if you file a claim.

The best way to protect tree roots is to avoid the roots entirely by excavating outside the root radius of the tree. For nearby projects, it’s a good idea to construct a temporary retaining wall. But that’s not always possible, depending on the project and the root system. In these cases, consider using alternative equipment like an auger to tunnel under the ground.

Remember, tree roots can damage nearby cement foundations as they grow. If a tree is close enough to interfere with large excavations, it may be better to remove the tree than risk future problems.

If you don’t trim your palm trees, you can expect several negative outcomes, including:

  • Unhealthy palm trees attract pests, diseases, and fungi

  • Dead falling fronds can cause severe injury or damage to your home, pedestrians, or cars

  • Dead palm branches are flammable and can catch fire, especially during a lightning storm
