"I had the attic of a rental property converted into two bedrooms which needed framing, hanging sheet rock, base board molding installed and handing doors. Tom was able to fit me into his schedule and complete the work with-in 2 weeks. He came back quickly fixed a few misunderstandings as to what my expectations were and it looks great. I am excited about the finished project. I would contract out with him again."

"Abraham was awesome! He installed a new oil furnace system and did a conversion and disconnect for my new water heater also to be installed. Which I will review separately since it was two jobs. As far as, the heating system he listened to what was important to me as far as the energy-saving factor and efficiency of a new unit. I also wanted a great warranty and to know that he would be able to maintain and service my heating unit for-- tip-top condition for years to come. He made all of this happen! The tenants also gave him a rave review for his professionalism and knowledge to explain what he was doing every step of this job. It was also mentioned that he was neat and clean throughout the job. As I am an out-of-state owner he was communicative and kept me updated on progress via pics. Would highly recommend it and definitely will use it again in the future!"

"Our 17 year old central air conditioning went out at the start of a heat wave. I called Arctic Fire on a Sunday morning. Alex returned my call that afternoon and came out the next day around noon and quickly diagnosed the problem and had our old unit running in about half an hour. In conversation with Alex I discussed the possibility of replacing my 17 year old unit which had been a problem with 3 previous service calls in the last year. Within a day he sent me an estimate which was very competitive and reasonable. Within 2 weeks he replaced both my compressor and air handler in a very hot attic. His team was very professional and completed the job in about 5 hours. Even in very hot weather his team remained focused and answered all my questions and concerns. He did not leave until everything was running and operating correctly. I would highly recommend Alex and Arctic Fire for any of your HVAC needs."

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Finding one termite could be a sign of an infestation. This termite could be a worker looking for food or a swarmer responsible for reproduction. Any time you see a termite crawling or flying around your home, or if you see their discarded wings around doors and windows, it’s time to call in a pro for an inspection.

Experts have mixed opinions about spraying spiders. A recent study found that chestnut and peppermint oil have a repelling effect on some spider species, but were ineffective at repelling others. You should consult with an expert exterminator to find out what works best to repel the spiders living in and around your home.

Yes, in some cases if your damper is left open, animals can come down your chimney. In these instances, it’s more likely that they have fallen in while looking for a safe spot rather than entered your house intentionally. Leaving your damper closed or installing a chimney cap can prevent animals from coming inside.

Yes, it’s possible for bats in your attic to find a way into your living spaces. Until you can properly remove the bats, the best course of action is to keep the attic doors closed and any holes sealed. Evidence suggests bats follow the airflow in your home, so they may try escaping from the attic to other parts of the house.

Paper wasps look similar to other wasps, like yellow jackets. They have narrow, but not thread-like, waists with black or brown bodies and yellow colorations. You can better identify paper wasps by their nests, which are made with regurgitated wood pulp. The nests look like they are made from paper and usually have visible hexagonal holes, like a honeybee hive.

They build their nests in places like eaves or branches, and their removal more often warrants the help of a wasp control specialist near you.
