"Great customer service. Quickly responded to my siding repair needs. I really appreciated the next day service as there were high winds forecasted and I didn't want to lose more siding. After the job was done, Jim gave me an explanation of the work his team did. Would definitely recommend Stewart Home Improvement!"

Small jobs welcome

"Very professional. They had an issue with the pressure washer. Came back the next morning (worked with me on time) to finish. While they were here on day 1, they noted additional things for me: 1) roof had mold/moss on it 2) gutter was not pitched correctly They gave me a "package deal" for the power washing and roof cleaning. it looks great. Gutters look like new. Stucco (that was stained and black under the deck) looks like new. I'm very happy and would recommend!"

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can find ceiling joists using simple tools if a stud finder isn't available.

Using a hammer requires patience and a keen ear. Gently tap the ceiling in a grid pattern, listening for sound changes. A hollow sound indicates space between joists, while a solid, dull thud suggests a joist. Mark the location with a pencil and confirm by tapping from different angles.

Alternatively, you can use a nail, but this method will leave small holes. You'll feel increased resistance when the nail hits a joist. Mark the spot and repeat the process every 16 or 24 inches to map the joist locations. This method is considered less reliable than using a stud finder.

Framing most homes takes anywhere between five and eight weeks to complete. You’ll need to account for inclement weather conditions, material shipment times, the number of crew members, and the weight of your materials. If the weather is too hot, wet, or cold for the installation, this process could take closer to eight weeks.

Enhances property value, ensures safety, and provides a sound basis for future construction.

Yes, you can hang picture frames, shelves, and other items on Trusscore panels. For lightweight items (less than 30 pounds), the company recommends using adhesive strips rather than nails or screws. However, you’ll need to secure heavier objects to a stud in the wall. In these situations, Trusscore recommends cutting away the panel material and fastening the object to the stud with metal hardware.

Most load-bearing walls are exterior, though they can also be interior.
