"Moyer Concrete did an excellent job removing old cracked concrete, and collapsed outside stairway to the basement. They also installed a box drain to handle any runoff to prevent it divert it back out into the yard. I would definitely hire them again and I am in the process of doing so."

She disappeared for 21/2 months and until a call letting her know we would take further action, she finally showed up. Now, she is blaming us for the problems she created and is acting as though she is doing us a favor by suggesting a solution that may do further damage. Pea gravel can be used as a base for a paver patio, but it’s not the preferred choice. Because it is small and round, pea gravel moves much more easily than other base options, like crushed stone, so it won’t keep your pavers in place properly. 

If you do opt for pea gravel, compact it well and use an additional binding agent (like stone dust) to keep everything from shifting.

If your new pavers look dull, it’s usually because of efflorescence. It is a chalky, white powder that is released when lime gets wet. If you have the patience, simply wait a year or so out.
