"Very great work! Not only is Terry honest but he is very professional and kind. He works with you and is not money hungry. Very sweet person and the price is very reasonable. Terry and his son put VCT tile flooring in my kitchen for me and put a white base to match the floors, and my kitchen floors look so much better than before. Terry made sure he did not leave until everything was done right. Terry is my floor person from now on because of his positivity and kindness. The goodness of his heart shows through him and his work. Thanks again for my floors 🌸🌸🌸"

"It was a beautiful job. She had some difficulty with her machinery on the first day, but she got it repaired and came back early the next day to do the job. She was very responsive, and when I told her we needed it done ASAP, she was happy to oblige."

Small jobs welcome

"Pitt is a very friendly, flexible, hard working, and detail oriented small business owner. He was very courteous and did a meticulous job replacing a handful of cracked/chipped floor tiles in our kitchen and laundry room. He always arrived on time, got the job done quickly, and let the work areas in better condition than he found them. His work is top notch and his prices are extremely reasonable. It is hard to find good hard working people who do quality work with such at good attitude at a palatable cost. Pitt did all that and so much more. I'm very particular and don't generally write review, but without question, I would hire Pitt again. I liked him and his work so much I asked if he could recommend someone for a different project because I trust him that much. Good guy, good work, fair price, it's as simple as that. Thanks Pitt!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

For flooring projects in Reading, PA, keep a dehumidifier and a reliable moisture meter to manage the area’s fluctuating humidity. Stock pH-neutral floor cleaners for hardwood, grout sealer for tile, and a steam cleaner for carpets. Microfiber mops, a HEPA-filter vacuum, touch-up stain pens, caulk, and basic repair tools are essential for ongoing flooring maintenance and quick floor repair in local homes.

Helpful?

In Reading, PA, older homes may have uneven subfloors, settling foundations, or even asbestos tiles if built before 1980. Watch for sagging or spongy floors, sticking doors, or visible cracks—these can signal structural issues. Moisture in basements and crawl spaces is common, so check for musty odors or dampness. If you notice these signs, consult a structural specialist before starting your flooring project.

Helpful?

After completing flooring projects in Reading, PA, allow floors to acclimate for 48–72 hours before placing heavy furniture. Use entry mats to reduce industrial dust and limit foot traffic for the first week. Monitor indoor humidity, document installation details, and confirm all necessary inspections are finished. Schedule regular professional cleaning and refinishing to keep floors in top shape given Reading’s unique climate.

Helpful?

In Reading, PA, quickly dry any water spots and use fans to prevent moisture from seeping into floors, especially during humid months. Secure squeaky boards with screws and use wood repair kits for minor scratches. Monitor for gaps or buckling, which can be seasonal. If you notice persistent dampness, mold, or structural sagging, call a flooring professional for further inspection and repair.

Helpful?

Flooring in Reading, PA, requires regular care due to humidity swings and local dust. Hardwood floors benefit from seasonal humidity control and quarterly deep cleaning. Tile floors need grout sealing twice a year and monthly cleaning. Carpets should be professionally cleaned every 6–12 months. Vinyl floors need weekly mopping and seam checks. Entry mats help protect all flooring types from outdoor debris and road salt.
