We have been servicing commercial clients throughout Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware, Philadelphia, and Chester counties for 25 years, specializing in Townships, Municipalities, School Districts, and HOA & Community landscaping. We offer a full range of property services that are custom tailored to meet your needs. Whether you need turf maintenance and mowing, landscape maintenance and installation, athletic field maintenance and renovation or commercial snow removal you can trust us to provide you with superior quality and dependability with a focus on sustainable, cost-effective solutions.
"We had a lot of work completed on our home (read: an expensive job). We had a paver walkway installed. We had some irrigation work (ran downspouts underground to run off points) completed. We expanded gardens that didn't previously have any foundation plantings by adding trees and shrubs, and changed the outdoor lighting. The team was quick to secure and complete the work, but the problem has been the follow up / remediation. The crew chief came out afterwards and noted soil settling where the irrigation work was completed, and that a tree and some shrubs were dying back. He talked about adding soil / seed because the settling was significant (obvious), and replacing plantings (trees / shrubs) that didn't fare well (tree trunk snapped by crew member and has been dying back since). I've contacted the crew chief who made the commitments, particularly since there is a warranty on plantings. Repeated calls and emails have not produced a result. So I strongly recommend avoiding this firm because they do not live to the commitments made."

"I cannot recommend Dave Michelbacher enough! A few years ago, we interviewed several electricians to add recess lighting in our kitchen and went with Dave. He did a great job so when we moved on to the big job of rewiring the whole house, we knew weâ d choose him again. Dave and his crew were incredibly considerate about minimizing unavoidable damage, COVID precautions, protecting our pets, and addressing all our electrical concerns. Dave is very thoughtful about practical considerations regarding placement of outlets and switches. He came up with several great ideas we hadnâ t even considered. The end cost was accurate to Daveâ s estimate. Thanks Dave!"

At Timber and Stone Landscape Design, we strive to provide all of our customers with an exceptional experience starting from consultation to final walk through. We are highly focused on the safety and satisfaction of our employees because we believe they are the most important asset that we have. The best design, selection of materials and overall scope of work are all critical to a successful project, but we believe it is the employees that are executing that make Timber and Stone stand out. From the initial consultation, our goal is to instill confidence through organization and professionalism. We also recognize that large, transformative projects are stressful. To help offset this inevitability, we offer multiple levels of design consultation through our trusted design partners. We can also work seamlessly with your designer if you have someone you trust with your project. Give us a call and let's have a conversation about doing something special at your property.
"Nick and team were fantastic to work with. He was available at all stages of the project to consult with and even suggested some improvements when our original vision didn't look like it would work out how we imagined. The price was very competitive but the end result looked like we paid premium price. Even though we were a small job compared to most of their work, we were treated like we were his main priority. I would recommend T&S and Nick highly. "

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
Landscapers typically charge $50 to $80 per person per hour, which equals around $150 to $240 per hour for a three-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
Licensing requirements vary from state to state and by locality. It's always best to check with your local University Extension Service to find out which services require licensing.
If you want landscaping done but want to save some money on the overall fees, you can do a few things at every stage. Some ways to save money on your landscaping include:
Repurpose existing features and materials
Softscape instead of hardscape
Choose the more inexpensive materials
DIY when you can
Buy young plants instead of mature ones
Saving money on a landscape project starts by breaking the project up in segments or phases. Start with the site work, digging or adding soils. Then plant the larger "anchor" plantings. Then follow up with the smaller fill in shrubs or flowers. Lastly, add decorative items like boulders, rock mulch and low voltage landscape lighting. This way you can budget the project based on your time and money.
If you are an avid DIYer and have plenty of time to dedicate to your yard, doing your own landscaping (or at least some of it) can be an affordable option. Projects like planting a tree, planting grass, laying sod, or building a firepit can realistically be done without the need for a landscaping professional. However, these projects can take considerable time and some landscaping knowledge, so having a pro might save you in the long run.
Projects that are dangerous, like digging with heavy machinery or removing a tree, should always be done by a professional.
Yes, landscaping and lawn care can be done by anyone. Just like baking, anyone can do it, but are the results good and worth the effort? Hiring a professional makes sense when doing complex work such as drainage, treating insects and disease, and pruning trees over 20 feet tall, etc. Some of these things require special licensing, such as pruning large trees. Getting multiple estimates from well-regarded professionals can help you decide the best choices for a DIY project or hiring a professional.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
