"We had to call Rubbish Rescue & Relief LLC for a very difficult biohazard situation in one of our Airbnb units while we were out of the country on spring break, and they were outstanding from start to finish. Communication with Harvey was prompt, clear, and professional, which gave us real peace of mind even from a distance. They followed through on everything they promised, including using smoke eliminator cleaning throughout the unit, disinfecting floors, chairs, and tables, wiping down all woodwork and surfaces, applying carpet odor eliminator treatment, and safely collecting and boxing all needles for proper disposal. They also ensured all doors and windows were secured before leaving. The unit was left clean, disinfected, and in a safe condition. I highly recommend Rubbish Rescue & Relief LLC and would absolutely use them again."

"I can't say enough good things about the waste removal services provided by these boys! They were prompt, professional, and extremely efficient. These two boys were courteous and respectful, and they handled the job with care. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly and thoroughly they were able to clear out the waste from my property. Their pricing was competitive, and the quality of service far exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Dump Boyz to anyone in need of their services. 5 stars all the way!"

"They did a really good job. They were super professional and made sure to clean as good as they could. It took a bit longer than expected which is why it isn?t a 5 star, but even though it took a bit longer, it looks amazing. Would totally book again"

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

The main issue with garbage disposals is clogging. This can mean a clogging of the pipes that expel the food along with water, or a clogging of the mechanical parts themselves. The problem lies in the solution because you can’t easily see clogs if they’re inside the system, and reaching in to dislodge stuck items is a risky proposal. Call a pro and ask what they would do, but if you can’t see the clog easily, and running the unit won’t free it, you need to let a professional handle the fix.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

Most garbage disposals have a reset button that can be triggered with a tool as simple and accessible as your index finger. That said, if you need to perform a more in-depth troubleshooting step, like manually moving the arms inside the unit or rotating the impeller plate, a hex wrench is the most common tool you’ll need. Most garbage disposals come with a hex wrench.

While unplugging your garbage disposal and plugging it back in may help, most units have an actual reset button, a bright red switch found on the underside of your unit. If your garbage disposal needs resetting, you may notice this button sticking out about a quarter of an inch from the surface of the unit, with which it’s usually flush. Simply depress this reset button to reset the unit, and then test to ensure it’s working about 10 minutes later.

Replacing a garbage disposal costs anywhere from $150 to $950, but the average cost is somewhere around $550. There are two types of garbage disposal units, and continuous feed disposals tend to cost more than batch feed disposals. Going for an aluminum garbage disposal is also significantly cheaper than choosing a stainless steel garbage disposal. You'll also need to factor in the horsepower of the motor, labor, and the removal and disposal of your old unit.
