The roofing crew arrived early, placed protective sheeting over the landscape and deck prior to removing the old shingles, and then replaced 4 skylights and installed a new GAF roof system, and then cleaned up all debris. Overall, we found them to be a great organization to do business with. The roofing team was on time, organized and composed of skilled and diligent workers who completed all their tasks on time and, more importantly, in an exceptional manner. Stuart Morgan, our sales rep, was easy to deal with and did a great job in estimating, quoting and listening to our needs. NexGen Exterior Home Remodeling LLCWe signed the contract for them in July but due to the pandemic, the supplies were backordered from the manufacturer. Jesse and Greg would keep us informed of the delays as we all waited for them to come in. Finally in late October the work could begin. Our job was a little challenging because our deck was one big deck between us and our neighbor next door and we wanted separate decks. Omar and Melvin came and carefully removed the old wood deck keeping as much of it intact for the dumpster and for possibility of reclaiming the wood. They separated the decks so our neighbor can replace his whenever he decides to. There was 2 days of rain delays but they made up for it working on the weekend, even in light rain to finish. They always cleaned up the backyard daily and made sure their tools were stored neatly either in our basement or garage. They were the best in their craftsmanship and efficiency for their work. The whole job took 4.5 days (2.5 days of rain delays) and it looks beautiful. Well worth the wait. Another set of neighbors complemented Omar and Melvin on their work as they were working. Now our deck looks like it was always two separate decks and we cannot wait go sit outside next year to enjoy.- MARK M.

Rutter RoofingWe were looking to have some roofing/siding work done. The project manager was great to work with and kept us informed during the entire process. The crew was professional and extremely hardworking. They were meticulous and we could not be happier about the finished product. They did a great job matching the roofing and siding to the existing color, and also did a wonderful job with clean up. We ended up needing to replace 2/3 of the plywood on the second story and that process went beautifully and did not hold up the project. My wife had used them in the past and was happy so we went with them after reviewing multiple bids. The price was right in line with others. The office staff was great to work with and kept us informed on the scheduling. For our second project we wanted to have an existing deck replaced and then expanded. The owner Cory provided us with several options which included pressure treated and two composite deck options. That was very helpful to see the difference in pricing options. In the end, we went with the composite because of the look, durability, and reduced maintenance. The quality and workmanship of the finished product was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a deck that would be the highlight of our backyard and they definitely delivered. Based on our experience we would recommend them if you are looking to have a deck designed and built. In the end, the quality of the work and professionalism of the entire Rutter organization was outstanding and is what sets them apart from others. We highly recommend Rutter Roofing.- Dana L.

Bryan's Handyman & Home Improvement ServiceWe are very pleased with the new deck build by Bryan and his team. They first tore down the old deck to the frame, which was still in good shape. NexGen did a beautiful job restoring the overhangs on the front dormer of our 100-year-old Craftsman house, replacing the cedar shakes with vinyl siding, and replacing the front half of our roof. The crews that did the work were great - thorough, hard-working, and cleaned up the job site. Greg's communication with us throughout the process was outstanding. We're very happy with the result and we'd definitely hire them again.

The this company does very high quality work. From removing the old deck to installing the posts in the ground to completion of the deck, everything was done to my satisfaction (and I am a perfectionist!). The design team worked with my special circumstances that involved having to have a part of the deck removable for gas line access. On site, Calvin further improved on that with an ingenious design. They answered any question that came up and were open to my suggestions. They were courteous, neat and organized, on time, and detail oriented. I highly recommend Stumps Decks.

First impressions were great, and the initial work was good. Once he had the bulk of his money, however, Wally lost interest. The work wound up dragging on for months. Wally would send a crew member or two once every every week or two. Eventually he would only show up if we asked him for an update. Finally, he just stopped communicating and never showed up again. He left our basement incomplete, and damaged in some places. It has been a nightmare. We’ll need to hire responsible contractors to fix and correct his work. Avoid this irresponsible contractor - if he wants to, he’ll abandon your job.

To give context for this review, I have a three-story stone Victorian that had been poorly maintained for years and needed many repairs. Damon has been working on my house for most of the past year and a half. My relationship with him started when I asked him to do some emergency repairs on a window on the third floor of my house. It was getting into the coldest part of winter and I had the window boarded up as best as I could. Damon was the only contractor willing to do the work as it was a fairly small job. He showed up on time, did the job well and charged me what I expected. That sentence might sound simple, but so many contractors fail in one or more of those three areas. I was so happy with my first experience with Damon, I hired him to work on the exterior of my house. Over the summer, he spent four months on a lift doing a complete repointing and partial rebuild of several walls and chimney that were falling apart, carpentry that included rebuilding rotted architectural elements, windows surrounds and rooflines, metal fabrication, and painting. I already knew he was a hard worker, charged fair prices and knew what he was doing, but over the summer I learned that he was skilled in a wide range of trades, knew many people in the trades that he could call in to get help, and is a creative problem solver and trusted advisor. I do not have an unlimited budget, and there were many times that Damon consulted me with a concern that might have been quite expensive, but he was able to figure out an adequate solution to keep the maintenance up, but not break the bank. After the success of the summer, I engaged Damon to stay and work on a complete break down and rebuild of my kitchen. Again, to understand Damon's skill you must understand my house and the seemingly infinite number of hidden problems you will find when doing any major work. Throughout this project, Damon was able to show his skill in electrical work, plumbing, finish carpentry, and a commitment to fit and finish that left us with a true show kitchen. He kept me informed all along the way of any roadblocks or challenges along the way and together we were able to figure out budget conscious solutions that looked amazing. I could go on for a while with specific reasons why Damon will be my contractor for the future, but the bottom line is he is a smart, hard-working, knowledgeable contractor that takes responsibility your project from beginning to end.

Excellent work. John was the consummate professional and his work was excellent and had an eye for detail. He always made sure things were done with right way. Work included installing a box for a ceiling fan, installing a light in a downstairs closet and running new wire to the new fixture, installing a light in an upstairs closet and running new wire to that fixture, and remediating an issue with basement pipes. He was very responsive and always gave good suggestions and advice.
