"Worthington Basement Health Systems did an extremely professional and high quality job on the egress window and EZ-Breathe Ventilation System. The quality of their work is impressive and the window makes my basement bright and safe. The ventilation system has taken the musty smell away and I actually want to spend time in my basement. I highly recommend them for your basement needs."

"Justin was very personable, responsive and came out  to provide an estimate promptly.  We discussed our project at length, and I found him to be tremendously knowledgable.  As part of the estimate process, he walked me through the steps that would be involved, projected timelines, and issues he thought might crop up given the condition of our existing surface.  I appreciated that he took the time, before having even been hired, to educate me on the ongoing care and maintenance of the stamped concrete finish to protect its durability and color.
After we received the written estimate via e-mail, Justin was able to schedule our job within the week.  The crew arrived as expected.  When rain delayed the schedule, I got a call informing me of the shift and keeping me apprised of the new date that looked good, weather-wise.  Because our house has white siding and we were staining the concrete a dark gray, I was thankful the guys proactively took great care to protect our siding and exterior doors from overspray.  I was asked to provide feedback and examine their work along the way to ensure everything was progressing in line with my expectations.
The results are astonishing - the walkway and patio look better than when they had been freshly poured and finished.  Huge thanks for the attention to detail and commitment to the best possible results.  They would be my first call if I had another similar job, and I would hire them again without question.

"We had 9 windows installed. Overall, the installation went well. Only issue was when the trim was re-installed, there were marks left on my freshly painted walls. I will have to go back and touch them up. For the painting, 2 bedrooms, hallway and stairwell were painted. Again, overall, it was done well; however, we had to repeatedly point out several spots that needed to be 're-prepped' and repainted. Hardwood flooring was installed in a bedroom and hallway. No issues at all with this. The floors look beautiful.
Millenium offers quality work at an affordable price. They are usually good in responding to any issues or questions. You just need to know that since they have different crews, you may not get the same guys for your project.
We have used Millenium for several projects over the past two years and will definitely use them again. No one contractor is perfect, but as long as the end of the project meets your expectations, that contractor deserves to be considered for future projects. Millenium meets this criteria.

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

Egress windows are typically required for basements with habitable space or living quarters. Not all basements or lower levels require egress windows. However, egress windows are required in homes with living spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms in a basement. The International Residential Code and International Building Code require sleeping rooms to have a specific size egress window. Check your local building codes to confirm the requirements in your area.

Yes, egress windows are grandfathered. However, this comes with some specifications. If you are remodeling a basement or adding a sleeping area, you’ll need to update the egress windows to be up to proper code. But, if you’re leaving your home as is, you do not have to adhere to these requirements.

The primary benefits of an egress window include providing a safe emergency exit, increasing natural light in a space like a basement, and improving ventilation. Additionally, installing an egress window can often increase your property's value.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.

The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.
