"Easy to get a quote and competitive cost. Ben communicated throughout the process and helped get the paperwork needed from the township. Together with Chris, they removed our old wood deck and replaced with Trex. Clean up was excellent. We love our new deck!"

"Our home is a 50's cape cod. What that means in real language is that nothing is square. Everything has settled so that there are indents, misalignments, etc. everywhere! Our dog did some major damage on bay window sill as well. Dave first did work for my husband over 20 years ago. Nothing has changed in all that time. He does the quality work now that he did then. In fact, he's better! He estimated the job, advised me where I could get the best costs on tile and styles (as I wanted to pick out the finishes). Gave me a spot on estimate of the time it would take and - as always - arrived at the hour promised to complete the task. It is beautiful and we absolutely love it! Somehow, he worked his magic to make the lines look straight!"

"James Parker is the best. He Replaced my Deck. He is a very honest person and Knows what he is doing. When my son gets his new house I definitely recommend James Parker to do his deck, he did a fantastic job, and replacing it with the Trex makes it look even more beautiful. First, he came in and as they were taking the wooden planks off to get to the frame he did tell me that the wood was bad so it had to be replaced and he actually showed me what the problem was too, and then within three days I had a brand new deck. You will not go wrong hiring James Parker, he and his team are awesome. Not only were they fast they were very professional as well."

"Was introduced to him by a friend; he did some pretty major carpentry work on the floor of my house which was starting to sag. He was very responsive and professional throughout, and left everything clean and orderly. Definitely would hire again"

"We were fortunate that an old friend urged us to consider Front to Back Home Improvements for an addition. Eric is a talented, honest and very professional craftsman. He also suggested several practical design features that we would have overlooked. the work was done well and on schedule. We would definitely use Eric for future projects and highly recommend his service."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

There are both temporary and permanent ways to enclose a carport. If you’re looking to enclose your carport for the winter, a canvas enclosure could do the trick. It won’t be as protective as a permanent structure, but it can offer some protection from elements like snow, rain, and wind. For a permanent enclosure, you can add extra walls, add a new vertical roof, or a lean-to addition on one side of the structure.

An A-frame home can be cheaper to build than a traditional house, but that is not always a given. Prices can be fairly similar in some cases, depending on the location, design, and necessary site preparation. Costs for an A-frame typically run between $100 to $200 per square foot, which is comparable to the cost of a traditional home. The cost of an A-frame can come in under those numbers if you opt for a prefabricated kit.

When hanging a door frame, it’s recommended that you use screws, not nails. Screws are more secure, easier to tighten, and easier to remove if you need to adjust the frame. On average, the cost to replace a door frame is about $400, but you can save on labor costs if you’re confident in your ability to DIY the project.

Yes, you can hang picture frames, shelves, and other items on Trusscore panels. For lightweight items (less than 30 pounds), the company recommends using adhesive strips rather than nails or screws. However, you’ll need to secure heavier objects to a stud in the wall. In these situations, Trusscore recommends cutting away the panel material and fastening the object to the stud with metal hardware.

It’s best to use two screws to secure deck boards into every joist. Securing the boards to every joist makes the deck more structurally sound, while using two screws on the outer sides of the boards can help prevent warping and cupping.
