"Mr. Toye was a real lifesaver. He showed up right when he said and he was easy to contact about scheduling and other questions. I needed some weird problems solved at the house I just bought and everything was expertly done! Dan's rate was very fair and I already have plans for him to do more work soon!"

Joe walked me through all of the necessary steps to restore my deck and included preventative measures that will prevent the same problems from happening again. "Great experience! Jack is very responsive and easy to work with. I initially requested an estimate on repairing my kitchen sink and faucet. After meeting Jack and realizing the variety of services he offered, I asked him to also paint my kitchen cupboards. By the time scheduled workday was here, I had requested several additions jobs….like assembling an Amazon purchased kitchen island, installing floating shelves above my kitchen cupboards and repairing my front door. He came in with the appropriate amount of helpers, was on time and got right to work. He finished in the promised amount of time. He’s very transparent with all costs and willing to work with customers to get their project done within their pricing means. I will definitely be hiring legacy again!"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Generally speaking, you should expect to wait 24 to 48 hours after filling a pool before you use it. However, the actual timeline depends on a few factors. Most importantly, you need to shock the water with chlorine or an alternative to swimming pool chlorine and let the concentration come down to a safe level before using the pool. Additionally, most water sources will be cold, and it can take days before the sun or your pool heater warms your water to a comfortable temperature. Alternatively, getting water professionally delivered could have you swimming in just a few hours.

Pool chemical levels should include a pH between 7.4 and 7.6, alkalinity between 80 to 120 ppm, and chlorine from 1 to 3 ppm. The size and type of your pool determine additional chemical levels, such as stabilizers and pool shock, but you can get to know these numbers using our pool maintenance 101 guide.

Yes, pool pumps use a significant amount of electricity, making them one of the biggest energy consumers in a home. A pool pump can use up to three times as much electricity as a refrigerator. Typically, a residential pool pump consumes about 1 kilowatt-hour (kWh) for every hour it runs. Because pumps often need to run for about eight hours a day to properly filter the water, this can add up to an annual consumption of 3,000 to 5,000 kWh, which can cost between $480 and $800 per year based on average electricity rates.

The amount of electricity your pump uses depends on its size, energy efficiency, and daily run time. To lower your energy consumption, you can choose an energy-efficient or variable-speed pump, ensure it is correctly sized for your pool, and run it only for the minimum time required to keep the water clean.

How long a pool liner lasts depends on the type of pool. Most in-ground pool liners last between six and 12 years, while aboveground pool liners last anywhere from six to 10 years. You can extend the life of your pool liner by maintaining proper pool chemistry, adding chemicals individually to avoid staining the liner, using a pool cover to protect it from the sun, and keeping sharp objects away from it.

Your aboveground pool might technically be able to stand without water, but you shouldn't consider it stable. Aboveground pools need the weight of water to provide adequate stability and prevent the walls from collapsing in. Be sure to fill your pool with water as soon as possible after installation.
