DS PAINTING is a small business painting contractor that has been working around the Eastern Pa area, since 2001. we do interior and exterior painting, staining, drywall repairs and some handyman services like carpentry work. I don't have many employees, so this way I can keep my over head down, out bid most of my competition and leave more money in our customers wallets . We are all professionals, on time every day, work 8 to 10 hour days, 7 days a week, and are all drug free. All of DS PAINTING services will be done by contract. fees will vary by different services. All contracts will have the details that are needed to ensure that the job is done, to yours and my satisfaction. Paint sprayers come with a few disadvantages, with the most notable being the up-front cost. You’ll spend a few hundred dollars on a paint sprayer in most cases, while a roller and brushes will typically cost under $40. Sprayers also require more preparation to cover the areas you don’t want to paint, and they require more technique to get your paint applied without drips or bubbles from applying too much paint at once.

Although most contractors, like painters, earn an hourly rate and do not expect tips, you can still tip if you’re satisfied with the job and feel that the painters went above and beyond. Tipping about $20 to $50 per worker can go a long way in showing your appreciation for a job well done. However, check with the contractor beforehand to confirm the policy on tipping, as some companies do not allow employees to accept tips.

In most cases, paint primer is necessary before painting over wood paneling. A hardy primer formula covers up stains and leaves a grippy surface for the new paint to hold onto. If you don’t use a primer first, you risk poor adhesion, visible blemishes, and a paint top coat that could flake away later. 

There are two primer choices: oil-based or latex-based. Choose an oil-based primer for durability and adhesion, but prepare for extra dry time and more VOC (volatile organic compounds) fumes. Or, pick a stain-blocking latex primer. They’re easy to apply, clean up, and affordable.

Chalk paint can be applied without sanding first. Keep in mind that while there are a lot of chalk paint color options available, there aren’t as many choices as latex or oil-based paint.

You can also learn how to paint furniture without sanding using a liquid deglosser, sometimes referred to as liquid sandpaper. This can remove any old paint, gloss, or varnish, without the need to manually sand. Apply the deglosser using a cloth, then wait for the chemical to penetrate through the surface. Once it soaks through, you should be able to wipe away the residue with a towel. 

It’s possible to paint inside when it rains, but you should keep the windows closed and have a dehumidifier in the room to maintain proper humidity under 70%. Note that keeping the windows closed means you won’t have ventilation, so double-check that you’re using a no-VOC paint for safety. Even then, it’s a better idea to wait until the rain has passed before you start painting.
