DS PAINTING is a small business painting contractor that has been working around the Eastern Pa area, since 2001. we do interior and exterior painting, staining, drywall repairs and some handyman services like carpentry work. I don't have many employees, so this way I can keep my over head down, out bid most of my competition and leave more money in our customers wallets . We are all professionals, on time every day, work 8 to 10 hour days, 7 days a week, and are all drug free. All of DS PAINTING services will be done by contract. fees will vary by different services. All contracts will have the details that are needed to ensure that the job is done, to yours and my satisfaction. To prep a floor for painting, start by sweeping and cleaning any loose debris that could puncture the protective material. Take out as much furniture as possible. Then lay plastic, canvas, rosin paper, or masonite sheets across the room, securing them at the edges with masking tape. Plan your painting so that you minimize the chances you’ll step in and track any splatters.

While it may seem like a blind spot, if you don’t paint behind the toilet, the previous color will likely be visible once the rest of the bathroom has been repainted, especially if you’ve gone with a significantly different color palette. Additionally, not painting every part of the room at the same time means that you will have an older paint job behind your toilet that could be more susceptible to moisture damage.

You can certainly paint vinyl baseboards, but you may want to consider why you would. Vinyl baseboards are not very expensive, and if you’re considering painting baseboards over 5 years old, you may want to consider simply replacing them with a color you like—there is an enormous range of color options for this material, and replacement won’t cost too much more than painting them.

For larger areas, like painting walls, a roller is the best option for applying eggshell paint. Rollers are made to hold more paint and spread it evenly and efficiently over your wall. A roller will be faster and give you a more even coat than a brush for painting walls and ceilings, and it will avoid the visible texture you’d get from brushstrokes for a clean finish. For smaller areas, like trim, a brush will work so long as you remember to paint with the grain of the wood.

While it is possible to paint over wallpaper, it’s not always ideal. If the wallpaper is firmly adhered, has no bubbling or peeling, and isn’t textured, you can try to prime and paint over it. Use an oil-based primer to prevent the adhesive from bleeding through. However, if the paper is damaged or loose, removal is the better long-term solution.
