Losch Services Inc. was formed in 2014 as an employee re-organization of the company. Operating without any debt, and private (employee) equity available for re-investment, training and modernization of equipment, Losch services is positioned for our next 85 years of service. Losch Boiler Sales and Service was established in 1929 as a service company for the famous Losch coal stoker manufactured by the Losch Boiler Company of Summit Station, PA (a separate entity). In 1946, Losch was one of the first plumbing and heating companies to begin delivering home heating oil to homes in a predominantly coal heated region. In 1987, Losch started trading under the name Losch Plumbing and Heating, Inc. Although Losch still serviced coal stokers at the time, the name change was enacted to reinforce that Losch was engaged in all types of plumbing and heating service. Losch Services Inc. now offers an array of services including plumbing, heating, light electrical, carpentry, bathroom remodel, home repairs, drain and sewer cleaning, well pumps, water heaters and natural gas, oil, propane or coal furnace installations to thousands of satisfied customers throughout Schuylkill and surrounding counties.

Residential energy auditing and energy efficiency consulting. We work with home owners, builders, architects, developers, non profits, government agencies and small businesses. The majority of our work is with single family and multi family homes, both existing and new construction. For existing homes we provide energy auditing services with inspection and testing to determine which home improvements would provide a more comfortable and safer home with the least investment. An energy audit should be the first step in any plans for home improvements as it will prioritize the multiple tasks to insure the over all project provides "the best bang for the buck". We provide home energy audits for the local utilities (PPL, MetEd, PECO/EnergyWorks) energy efficiency programs and for programs like PA Home Energy, KeystoneHELP and Home Performance with Energy Star (HPwES). We handle the submission of rebate paperwork for home owners in these programs. We can provide Energy Star qualification services for major home rehabs which may qualify for incentive payments to the builder. Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

Homeowners can often access federal tax credits, such as the Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which covers a percentage of installation costs. Many states and utilities offer additional rebates, grants, or performance-based incentives. These programs can significantly lower your upfront investment. Check the Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE) or contact your local energy office for current offers.

Smart glass doesn’t use a lot of electricity, and you can expect a standard window to add between $1 and $2 per year to your electric bills. Smart glass is proof that energy-efficient windows work. Although your smart windows may consume a little energy to operate, they can save enough energy to offset the costs. If you’re concerned about the minimal bump to your electricity consumption, you can opt for smart tint, which doesn’t require electricity to work.

If you have central air conditioning, it’s fine to run your AC all day if that’s what you want—as long as the AC unit is in good condition. But if your AC runs constantly when you don’t want it to, there may be a problem with your system (like the ones we’ve mentioned above). Window AC units and wall air conditioners aren’t as powerful as central AC, so you should only run those kinds of air conditioners for eight to 12 hours at a time.

Yes, a dirty air filter can cause a higher electric bill. That’s because clogged filters make it harder for air to flow through your HVAC system, which forces it to work harder and use more energy. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, replacing dirty filters can save you between 5% and 15% in utility costs.

Yes, installing an attic fan can help lower your electric bill—particularly if you live in a hot and humid region. By replacing hot and stuffy air with cooler air, these fans help regulate the temperature in your attic and the rest of your home, taking some of the pressure off of your air conditioner.
