"My overall experience was excellent! From the very beginning, the salesman, Austin, was absolutely amazing very knowledgeable, very pleasant and went way above and beyond to get things ready for my installation of a new heat pump system. The installation crew that came the following day was also absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend this company to anybody and will definitely contact them with any additional needs I may have. I’d like to thank each and every one of them for doing such an excellent, professional job."

"Everything done exactly right, on schedule (ahead of what I was expecting). AJB quoted a Columbia boiler, which cost a little more than the others, but I believe will be worth it. Worked almost 13 hours the first day and a couple more the next day to get the job done. Cleaned the area and ensured everything was operating properly."

"Ethan contacted me right away to set up a time to come look at my water heater. He was at my house the next day (was not an emergency.) I decided to replace the existing one and he had the old one out and new one in in a very timely manner. I will definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a plumber!"

"Called BAE at 5pm, and left a message with their operator. Henry called me back within 5 mins and was at the house within an hour. By 6:15pm my AC was working again -- he quickly diagnosed the problem, had the part in stock (capacitor), and completed the installation. He was professional, skilled, and courteous. Would hire him again in heart beat."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

The most important sign of a boiler problem is something happening unexpectedly, which is why regular boiler maintenance is important. Unexpected problems can include strange smells, new leaks, and unexpected noises that your boiler wasn’t making before. Additionally, if a boiler keeps shutting off or can’t maintain a specific temperature range, it’s time to call in an expert.

No, there isn’t always water in radiators. In a one-pipe system, water is constantly circulating from the boiler to the radiators and back. In a two-pipe system, water travels through two separate channels: one that goes to your radiators and one that returns back to the boiler so it can heat up again.

Professional HVAC installation requires licensed expertise in several areas, including electrical- and plumbing-related work. An HVAC team must know how to safely handle regulated refrigerant chemicals and the gas, oil, or propane used in furnaces and boilers. A proper HVAC installation protects your home from energy loss, fires, and even carbon monoxide leaks.

Many HVAC companies offer free quotes and free estimates for repairs and new HVAC systems. Others offer low-cost quotes or apply the cost of the estimates or diagnostics to your final bill if you hire them. Be aware that some companies advertise free HVAC quotes and recoup the costs by charging more for their services. Free HVAC quotes are never truly free—they cost the company time and effort—so be a good customer. Also understand that you may end up paying for free quotes in another way if you don’t hire a reputable company.

The primary differences between a heat pump and a boiler are their function and how they produce heat. A heat pump is a versatile system that provides both heating and cooling by moving ambient air and altering its temperature. In contrast, a boiler is solely a heating system, often working with a furnace or AC unit as part of a larger HVAC system. In terms of heat production, a heat pump generates heat more slowly and at a lower temperature, requiring a large convector for distribution. A boiler, however, produces a large amount of high-temperature heat that it emits through smaller radiators.
