"Will and Rob showed up at the house and the appointed time and started right at it. The old a/c, furnace, duct work, wiring, and gas line were gone in no time. When they started the install, took their time to get everything perfect. Constantly checking for level and plum of all units, ducts, plumbing, and even wiring. Explained what was going on and why they were doing what they were doing. Both Will and Rob very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about HVAC. I worked in the plumbing wholesale for 20 years, so I know a bit about was going on. The new technology is amazing. They installed a 96 percent efficient furnace with a 16 seer a/c unit by Amana. Came with a lifetime warranty on the a/c compressor and furnace heat exchanger, the two main components.
They did an excellent job. All the old units were taken away and site was completely cleaned cleaner than before they started. Will even filled out the rebate form from the electric company for me.
I will definitely hire Giant again and again!

"Joe was great. He responded very quickly to my request for a quote. He ended up having a couple of hours the same afternoon, came right over, and voila - it was done! An old ceiling fan removed and two fixtures installed in less than an hour. Nice guy. Good price. Cleaned up after himself. I'd work with him again."

"Our expansion tank blew off the hot water tank on a Friday night. We had to turn off the water to the house to prevent flooding. We contacted Bucci Plumbing's emergency service. They coudn't send anyone until Saturday morning. Our plumber arrived early, calling ahead to make sure we were available, and swiftly viewed the problem. He left to get parts and returned quickly, In about an hour he had removed the old tank, fixed the bad job done by a previous installer, and has a new tank properly installed. We have used Bucci for many years now, and None of their repairs has ever broken, caused problems for other contractors, or given us any cause to worry."

"I called Ray around 9:30 pm and he answered the phone right away. I told him several lights had been flickering and when I had gone downstairs I discovered that the breaker box was emitting a burning smell. He said he would be right over. Ray arrived shortly thereafter and diagnosed the problem - Two bad breakers with loose tabs which caused arching and heated up the buss bar. Since the service cable was old and the panel had burnt buss bars it was necessary for these to be replaced. Ray did not have the components necessary to do the repair that evening. I told him that I had plans to go on vacation the next morning and now wondered if I could go at all or for it to be delayed (fortunately this all happened the evening before I had left). He said he would come back first thing in the morning to do the work so that I could leave for vacation but made sure it would be safe before he left. And, if I did notice any more burning to call him right away (which I did not). Ray and his co-worker arrived by 7 am and performed the work. In addition, Ray also installed a new light fixture in the kitchen (ironically, I had called him earlier in the day (mid-afternoon) to do this work but he was so swamped that he could not fit me in, which I understood completely and it was not an emergency. So, I had already found his company off of Angie's List at that time).  Anyway, all the work was  finished well before noon and it was now safe to leave for vacation. Ray was extremely nice as well as professional and I am very thankful that he could help me, even though he had a long day. Ray and his co-worker made sure everything was cleaned up when they left. I would not hesitate to call him again (and intend to do so since I already have another job for him to do)."

"I noticed water under my hot water tank one evening.  I called my homeowner's warranty service to inquire as to whether my hot water tank was covered by them.  They indicated it was and they would send a plumber to take a look and if it needed replaced they would replace it.  A plumber from DiTommaso Plumbing was sent to my home.  I had to take a day off work because the plumber would come between 10:00 and 1:00.  He showed up at 2:30. (Which had I known, I wouldn't have had to take a day off.)  When he came in to assess the problem, he had no flashlight for an area that was dark to begin with.  He made a judgement without examining any of the tank or moving anything from out around the tank.  He replaced a pressure relief valve which he claimed was the problem.  I paid him for his services and he left.
I did not go around the tank again for a couple of days.  When I did, I found the same problem as before.  I had a friend look at the tank and he found a leak in the bottom of the tank. I immediately called the warranty company again.  I had it arranged that the plumber call me before he was to arrive so it would give me time to get home from work.
When he arrived, again he came in without a flashlight and I showed him where I thought the water was leaking.  He assessed it again, and said I needed a new tank which he did not have with him.  I was to then make another appointment so he could come another time to put the tank in.  This would again inconvenience me.
It was 5 days later the appointment was made because the plumber was booked until then.  The appointment range for this visit was between 2:00-5:00.  I ask that I be called before his arrival so I could leave work and be there before the plumber.  At 2:30 while I was on my way home the plumber called and asked where I was.  I asked him the same thing.  He was waiting for me in my driveway.  I told him about being called before his arrival but he said he was never told and that he would only wait 20 minute before he would leave if I hadn't arrived yet.  I did not want to argue with him while I tried to get home in time.  When I arrived he was still waiting but he was very "short" with me about the whole situation.  Not much was said from the time he started to the time he finished.
I had my friend here by then to see that things were going as they should.  By the time he finished, he had become a little more approachable.
All in all, the experience was not a very good one.  I am writing this as he was leaving the driveway.

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

The best material to use will depend on your budget and style goals. Fireclay is a great choice but is expensive and heavy. Stainless steel is less expensive and more durable, but lacks the wow factor a clay sink might. Copper is very expensive but lasts a long time and has a striking appearance. Those looking for an industrial look can go with concrete, or those looking for a classic design might choose porcelain.

No, all faucets are not compatible with all sinks. Because your countertops and your sink likely have a set number of holes already built in, you’ll need to find a faucet with the same amount of holes to work with your existing sink.

While the drain connection for a garbage disposal is nearly universal and fits standard sink drain holes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, the size of the disposal unit itself is not. You must have enough space in the cabinet underneath your sink to accommodate the disposal's housing. A larger model may not fit in a compact cabinet or if the existing plumbing is arranged in an unusual way. Before buying a new garbage disposal, measure the available space under your sink. If you are replacing an old unit, it's often easiest to choose a new model of a similar size.

A good option for opening up and cleaning a sink drain is to use a ¼ cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar, along with a rubber stopper to cover the drain while those materials work their magic. After about 15 minutes, you can flush the drain with hot water. In many cases, these materials can scrub out minor clogs and get the drain working properly again. If the issue persists, call in a plumber near you to get the problem permanently fixed.

Tools include pipe wrenches, plungers, and augers. Professionals use advanced equipment for complex issues.
