If your wood furniture is sticky after already cleaning it, it’s likely from using too many polishes or waxes. You can then reapply the wax or polish afterwards, but try to use a much smaller amount and wipe away any excess.

To prevent water spots from appearing on your upholstered chairs after cleaning, avoid saturating the furniture or applying water directly on it, and don’t use direct heat to dry it. Instead, use damp (not wet) cloths and suds from water-based solutions and let your chairs air dry inside.

If your dog has fleas, you should clean your couch and other upholstered furniture immediately. Fleas can lay eggs on furniture, and you can help remove them by regularly and thoroughly vacuuming your couch. Steam cleaning after vacuuming is also essential because the high heat can help kill the eggs and fleas on contact.

To remove dog or cat urine from a microfiber couch, use a safe solution for your furniture based on its cleaning code. First, blot up as much as possible, then cover the area with baking soda for a few hours to remove the smell. For S cleaning codes, use a spray bottle to spritz the stained area with rubbing alcohol and gently scrub with a microfiber cloth until the urine is gone. Use the same process for W or S-W cleaning codes but with 1 cup of vinegar and 1 cup of rubbing alcohol. 

While they both help to penetrate tough fibers and have similar designs, there is a difference between an upholstery cleaner and a carpet cleaner. Carpet cleaners are much tougher on stains and use much more concentrated solutions, while upholstery cleaners are a bit softer on fabrics and use lighter solutions. While an upholstery cleaner may work on a carpet, your carpet cleaner might be too rough on your upholstered furniture.
