"We added a full bathroom in our garage and an additional 16 ft wall with an interior door. The project went well and we’re very happy with the work that was completed. Bob is an amazing person to work with as is his wife Laura. They made the process easy from planning & permitting, to choosing the right materials and layout. Everything went as expected. Bob went above and beyond to insure the job was completed on time as we had a specific timeframe that we needed the job to be completed. We would hire Bob again for another project in the future. Thanks so much Bob!"

"I worked directly with Jasmine. Jasmine was great to work with, very professional and relatable. She was understanding about the sudden changes in color and material I had during multiple consultations. She offered me a vast knowledge of materials and details about the work I hadn’t thought of or didn’t know about. If I have another project in the future I won’t hesitate to reach out to Sentri Homes."

"I called late Friday and was given an appointment for the next morning! They replaced a few shingles, sealed a couple areas on the roof and did a complete inspection. I asked for an estimate to replace the roof and it was less than I expected, but was told it didn't need done now. The roof is well over 20 years old, but they said the repairs they made should get me through the next year or two. With that kind of honesty they will definitely be the company that replaces my roof. They were very courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Affordable Roofing."

"We had work done on the stone patio around our pool. He also did drainage work around an area of our house that often floods. It has really made an incredible difference! Especially with all the rain we have had this year! I am so grateful to Sal and his workers! I would highly recommend their company!"

"John was great to work with from beginning to end! He helped us work with our insurance company. He and his crew did amazing work and started early in the morning prior to a snow storm to ensure the work was completed on time. It was a truly a 'turnkey' project for us. Highly recommend them!"

Storm Shelters questions, answered by experts

This is a matter of personal preference. However, building a detached structure is generally considered better if you intend to rent out the new space. The advantage to going with an attached garage addition is that you may pay less for plumbing, HVAC, and other features because you can use the existing systems from your home to carry over piping and wires.

There's no simple answer to which is less costly: wood or metal-framed homes. In most cases, metal building components cost more than wooden ones, while entire metal buildings cost less than wooden versions. However, regardless of the exterior framing or structure, each must meet similar building codes. This means that the costs are about the same, even considering that wood will require more maintenance than metal over time.

Modular homes can be a great investment, especially for those who find the prices of stick-built real estate too high. Modular homes are usually much more affordable because they’re mass-manufactured and then assembled on-site or delivered mostly assembled. If they’re installed properly and by professionals, they can last for between 50 and 100 years, potentially making them an outstanding investment.

Any type of construction that damages a tree’s roots via soil compaction can be dangerous, and is one of the primary causes of mature tree death in residential areas. Simply putting lots of weight on the ground around the tree, like construction supplies, trailers, and equipment, can kill roots near the surface. Of course, installing new foundations, patios, or utility lines can cut through nearby tree roots. Accidentally striking a tree with equipment or supplies is rarely a problem, but can cause damage of its own, too.

Stone houses used to be much more practical, but with the advent of stronger and cheaper materials like concrete, they aren’t seen as much anymore. There are some parts of the world where it makes sense to build with stone, and they are usually next to a stone quarry. Stone is, however, very weather-resistant, which is why many homes near the sea and on mountains are still built with local stone.
