"BWN was prompt, sent courteous representatives and knowledgeable technicians who went above and beyond in explaining and completing the process. They were also reasonably priced and were the only ones to offer a lifetime guarantee. I would recommend them to others. They left the worksite clean and I have not had any other problems with my basement."

"Company was great to work with. Quality workmanship. They were at my home when expected and kept me informed of progress. I was very impressed with the cleanliness. I didn't have to come home from work and clean up behind any of them. I highly recommend this company."

"

Tony and his crew painted the exterior of a home I own in the Midtown Historic District in Harrisburg.  At the beginning of the project, they discovered rotted window frames and notified me quickly.  After I had the damage corrected, they went on to paint the siding and all the wood trim on this 1880's home.

I was very happy with the result.  The painting they did was absolutely perfect!  It looks fabulous, and several neighbors have complimented the job and asked for the contractor's info.

Tony was very communicative and was a pleasure to deal with.

I would definitely use again!

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

Basements are generally required to have windows for your safety. At a minimum, windows should provide an egress in the event of a fire. But basement windows do more than offer a way out; basement windows also offer natural light and ventilation in an area of your home that is otherwise dark and musty.

Most professionals can install a window well in two to three days, depending on the size of the well and the window you want inside it. If you’re just replacing an existing window well, the work is much less intensive, and most experts can get the job done in just one day. Connecting the window well to a drainage system or installing a custom concrete window well will naturally take longer, but even the most complicated installations shouldn’t take more than three days.

Expect excavation below grade, creating a well for access, weatherproofing, and thorough inspections during setup.

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.

Egress windows require regular maintenance to ensure they function correctly. This includes cleaning the glass, inspecting the frame and well for debris, and making sure the cover or well drains properly. It is also important to check that the window sills and wells are watertight and to inspect and repair any damage to the window frame or seals to prevent leaks and maintain functionality.
