"I pay them a monthly fee for a maintenance plan and they come out and service my unit whenever I have an issue. The pump on the air conditioning unit was making a vibrating sound and they came and checked everything. They also flushed the unit and now everything is working fine."

A sump pump is designed to remove excess groundwater that may enter your home, either due to flooding or periods of heavy rain.

Thankfully, you do have a few sump pump backup options in case it fails. One option is a battery-powered backup sump pump. Another option is using a portable backup generator as a power supply for your sump pump. Unlike a battery-powered backup which has limited power, a generator can run around the clock for as long as you need it.

A grinder pump macerates, or shreds, solid waste before pumping it onward to the sewer line.

Sump pumps remove excess water from the lowest point of your home, which prevents flooding. When a sump pit fills with water, a sump pump pushes that water outside of the basin and into an exterior discharge pipe. From there, the water flows away from your home, so it doesn’t damage your foundation.
