"Miguel was an absolute pleasure to work with on my project!I had a complicated patio design which required the removal of two massive tree stumps, the addition of a new drainage system to handle storm water that was creating problems with my foundation, footings for a new Gazebo, and regrading of my backyard to help with the design. Miguel visited my property 3 times to give me ideas/recommendations on how to fix my water issues with the patio design I was looking for. I could immediately tell Miguel was a true professional at what he does and truly cares about doing the best job for his customers. No other contractor spent the amount of time to think through the options and this helped me feel comfortable knowing Miguel and his team were going to take the time to do it right. When you are making big investments on your property, you want someone you can trust and who's going to stand by their work and Miguel did just that. He always returned my phone calls, followed through on details we discussed, kept me updated and addressed any concerns I had along the way, and completed the job on time and was very fair with his pricing. I cannot speak any more highly of Miguel and his team and will be using his team going forward and recommending him to family & friends."

"Todd and his wife were very thorough when they came in to discuss the job to be done. They removed old wallpaper and we decided to put one wall as an accent wall with wallpaper and also needed 4 rooms painted. They were great at both painting and the wallpaper installation, very clean, and made sure everything was covered before starting any of it. Todd even went around and caulked all the cracks he had seen before painting, which was such a wonderful surprise. I definitely will be having them return to do more work for me and would highly recommend. Work is phenomenal with reasonable prices."

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

To remove pre-pasted wallpaper, you’ll need to wet the wallpaper or steam it to loosen the paste on the back of the wallpaper. Spray the paper with water, then let it soak for 10 to 20 minutes. From there, you should be able to peel off the wallpaper. Then, you may need to follow up with a cleaning solution and a scraper to remove any remaining wallpaper paste on the walls.

Wallpaper in bathrooms can last anywhere from one to 10 years, depending on what type was used, how well it was installed, and the measures in place to reduce moisture and humidity levels. Opting for a more durable variety and taking all the necessary protective measures will get you closer to that longer lifespan.

While you can remove wallpaper yourself, it is a labor-intensive process that risks damaging your walls. Common DIY methods include using a steamer to loosen the adhesive or spraying the paper with a solution of hot water and vinegar or dish soap before scraping. However, steamers can cause irreparable damage if used incorrectly, and the spray-and-scrape method can harm drywall if it gets too wet or you scrape too aggressively. For these reasons, hiring a professional is often the fastest, easiest, and safest option. A pro has the experience and specialized tools to remove wallpaper efficiently without damaging the underlying surface, which saves time and minimizes the prep work needed for your next wall treatment.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

If you’re installing new wallpaper and have leftover glue, you can remove unused wallpaper paste from the bucket or pan it’s in by letting it dry. If it’s an oil-based paste, seal it in a plastic bag and throw it in the garbage. Otherwise, toss the leftover wallpaper paste in the trash. Although it’s water-soluble, don’t rinse unused wallpaper paste down the sink because it could dry in the pipes and cause a blockage.
