"Rinker is great, they were very informative, professional. I reached out to them again to install another generator in a new house, but sadly it is outside their service area."

"I asked for a team to install and wire 8 kitchen can lights. Great professional team that came in on time, did a great job protecting the kitchen, finished the job in less than 2 hours, and cleaned up behind themselves entirely. They charged a very reasonable price, and made the whole project as smooth and seamless as possible. Definitely recommend for your project."

"Karl and his team were extremely responsive and not only called me back promptly, but Karl had his crew out to my house later the same day, estimating when other jobs would be done. I have now used Kode Electric 3 times, twice for fixture installs and wiring issue and once for setting up a dedicated electrical outlet for a treadmill. They kept the area clean, removed all debris and were prompt and quick. Just like finding a good doctor or a great mechanic, finding an electrician you can trust for any level job is a blessing. I would recommend Kode electric for any of their electrical jobs. I will possibly have some exterior lighting done in warmer months(I just have to figure out what Iâ m looking for), and will absolutely call Karl and his team at Kode Electric. Very reasonably priced and while I can do basic fixture installs, jobs like my 2nd story light or exterior light which had a frayed wire, I know my limitations and called this great professional to do it at a very reasonable price(less expensive than renting an interior ladder from Home Depot, without the fear of being at a height). Highly recommend this company and the personal touch Karl gives you as well as his friendly employees."

"I cannot stress enough how impressed I am with their commitment to customers. After the installation of an outlet for an EV charger and an upgrade to my panel, I had a minor issue. Within an hour of me reaching out to inform them of the issue, I received a call with an offer from Endrite to come by later in the day to take a look. The repair was done at my convenience with no additional charge. They were thorough and went beyond what was probably needed to ensure the problem did not re occur."

"I needed to have my electrical code issues up to date for sale of my home. Time was an issue and explained the need for speedy resolution. They were great. So professional and understood my urgency. All my issues were resolved and their prices were reasonable. I only wish I called them earlier."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

While the rating will tell you how many watts the refrigerator needs at the peak of its cycle, it requires additional wattage to start. At the bare minimum, you’ll need a 1,500-watt generator to get the fridge up and running after a blackout. A 2,000-watt generator should be sufficient for most home refrigerators.

With proper maintenance, a whole-house generator can last between 20 and 40 years. The specific lifespan depends on how often and for how long the generator is used, and some models may have their life expectancy rated in hours of operation. To maximize its lifespan, expect to spend around $150 to $300 per year for annual maintenance checks from a qualified technician. During these checks, a technician will inspect the engine filter, starting mechanism, fuel, lubrication, and coolant levels. Consulting your installer and choosing a low-impact fuel like natural gas or diesel can also help ensure your generator lasts as long as possible.

A home that is 2,500 square feet will likely need a 20kW to 25kW generator. Consult your local generator installer to confirm the generator size needed to power your home before purchasing a new one. Be sure to consider how much power your necessary devices need to run.

Potential benefits of using a natural gas generator include reducing your carbon footprint, lower likelihood of carbon monoxide exposure, budget-friendly operating costs, and low-maintenance, continuous fuel supply. Some possible drawbacks, though, include higher initial installation costs, dependency on a natural gas supply, and installation complexity. Keep in mind that pros and cons will vary based on the type and brand of natural gas generator.

To power a central air system during a power outage, the whole-house generator will need to be at least 5,000 watts, and this number will significantly increase for larger units. Check the specific wattage requirements of your AC unit to choose the right generator size. Consider consulting a generator installer to ensure your whole-house generator meets your electrical load needs.
