"Grays landscaping did a detailed, thorough and complete job removing the leaves from my property. They used blowers, then raked, shoveled and even used their hands when needed to ensure a job well done. Will be bringing them back in the spring to do the same."

"Jack and his crew were wonderful to work with. Jack is very knowledgeable in refinishing wood. We had a 35 year of stair railing that needed sanded, stained, and polyurethane. Very considerate of the dust and our home surroundings. Would highly recommend for all your wood finishing needs."

"I can't say enough of Robert Dell'Aquila and his team. Our home was built ~ 1902. This was a very involved job, from the removal of damaged plaster ( more extensive than anticipated) , to replacing parts of the ceilings and walls, recovering old fireplaces, to ultimately the real art....the actual plastering. The team arrived on time and worked together seamlessly. They covered and protected furniture. They cleaned the rooms upon completion, as well as all 3 flights of stairs. I came to understand the meaning of master plastering. The new has blended and feathered with the old. The plaster swirls are beautiful making the rooms looking pristine, back to their original state. I couldn't be more pleased. The team of three were professional, courteous and personable. I would definitely hire them again, as well as recommend them for hire."

"Bill and the other workers were very friendly, worked hard, did the permitting for us, and dealt with the inspector. Roman is very personable, easy to get a hold of, and called to see what we thought of the work being done. We are very pleased with the sturdy new decks and steps they built~"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The most likely causes of a deck leaning to one side are damaged deck posts, soil erosion, and inadequate deck footings. If you’re not sure about the exact cause, the best option is to call a contractor who can build a deck to inspect the damage and recommend the best way forward.

It is recommended to clean your deck once or twice a year to prevent the accumulation of dirt, debris, mold, and mildew. The ideal times for cleaning are in the spring and fall. A spring cleaning removes grime that has built up over the winter, preparing your deck for summer use. A fall cleaning washes away messes from summer activities, preventing them from setting into the wood over the winter. The exact frequency can depend on factors such as how often the deck is used, its exposure to pollen, and whether salt was used on it during the winter. Regular cleaning helps protect the wood and its finish from damage.

The cost to build a second-story deck averages $4,800, though the actual price could range as low as $420 to upwards of $16,000. While labor costs range between 35% and 50% of the total project cost, the materials and complexity of design will ultimately lead you to save or spend more money on this home addition.

Homeowners should build their floating decks at least 18 inches off the ground. Having it at this height will allow for better airflow underneath and help prevent moisture-related problems like warping or rot. That being said, local guidelines for deck heights may vary depending on where you live.

Yes, and in some cases, frozen ground may improve the digging process for footings due to sturdier conditions. It’s easier than working in muddy conditions, which are more common in the spring. Contractors may use machinery that makes this step a breeze, so harder ground shouldn’t affect the building process.
