Our old house on the Northside of Pittsburgh was in need of an exterior facelift and a new front porch to replace the one that had collapsed. I met with Dave LaBovick of Exceptional Exteriors and we agreed upon a price, which my wife and I found quite reasonable. The work on the vinyl siding began about a week later and took only a half a day to wrap up. The job was done to our complete satisfaction, The before and after is like night and day. Another crew arrived a few days later to do the porch and sidewalk. They began work on a Thursday afternoon and were finished 24 hours later. Once again, we are very happy with the result. In both cases, they removed all debris and left-over building materials associated with the job. We are not only completely satisfied with the work that Exceptional Exteriors did for us, we are looking forward to hiring them again for our next home project.

The project went better than any home project we’ve had so far (and we’ve had A LOT of home projects)! This is a company that cares about their name, the work, and the homeowners. With a culture like this, its easy to see why the process goes smoothly. They check in regularly throughout to make sure the work is getting scheduled quickly, then they check in to make sure the work is satisfactory and as planned and then they check in to make sure the work was completed as planned. Really, a fantastic company we’d work with again!

Everything went great from initial estimate through cleanup! This company was referred to me by a friend whose metal roof they had installed. Everything they did was professional, courteous & on time from beginning to end. The estimate was honest, accommodating and low pressure, the office was friendly, the workers were prompt & worked hard. Everyone was super easy to work with. Plus they did the work that some others weren’t interested in looking at bc it is a shared garage.

It’s been over a year and a half and I still can’t talk about it without getting upset. Shoddy workmanship along with not doing everything that was promised. Now I have to hire someone else to finish the job right. Sitting in the backyard watching the birds fly in and out of the rotted soffit that was not replaced as promised, catch the water leaking through the improperly finished skylight and trying to stop the rain dripping between the door and screen door on the addition just to mention a few things. However the “4 tubes of chaulking” have finally stopped the roof leaks.

Our experience with this company was OUTSTANDING! From our salesman to the crew, they were so friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They only asked a small down payment and the balance due after completion of the project to our satisfaction. We had a metal roof and 5 windows installed and could not be happier with the final product! There were no problems encountered with our installations!! We had a lot of exterior upgrading done - leaky roof, new windows in the upper floor to replace old ones with irreparable condensation, old leaky patio with rusty supports. This company deserves its "exceptional" name! The roof was completed in one day by a team of six workers. The six upper floor windows were done in two days by a team of two. Siding was completed in three days by a single expert worker. Completely new porch was done in four days .

The installation only took three days and looks great. We went with white to keep the house cooler since our main living area is south facing. My only gripe is that it took a while between delivery and installation. However, Roman helped me with that. I'll hire Exceptional Exteriors for my next project for sure.

Firstly, this review is two years after the fact because both spouses thought that the other spouse had posted a review! (I know!...our apologies!) More importantly, this is a first-rate company with high standards for both their work and their employees!! We will definitely return to this company for any future work we require. Workers were always punctual, good-natured, and respectful of our property. The project was a tear-off of a porch tar roof and replace with metal roofing. Also, the second-floor surrounding wood shakes were replaced with siding that resembled wood shakes. Rotted wood soffit was replaced, painted and matched to existing soffit. A spotlight was replaced in that same area. The leaking roof had brought down plaster inside the house; the ceiling was patched and painted to match the existing ceiling. Two years later and the work looks great with no problems. Again, will definitely return to this company in future.

Sales rep was excellent. Communication was good with all representatives including crew. Gave me good advance notice of when they would do the job. Materials arrived 2 days before job start, dumpster arrived day before. They did the work on a Saturday and the dumpster was gone early Monday. For what it's worth, I roofed in my younger days, and indeed did the original roof on this house, so I have a very good idea of what it takes. It's a very long distance from the street to the house, so just to get the materials to the house and the debris back up to the dumpster on the street is challenging. These guys did a good job under difficult circumstances.Before ripping the roof they covered the ground levels and also draped tarp over the side of the house. They were careful to save two large and heavy chimney caps which we wanted to preserve. The laying of the shingles was good. The gutters were cleaned thoroughly after the job and the ground was also cleaned. It was an extremely hot day and the crew worked hard.

I am extremely disappointed with this company. I hired them 6 years ago to replace my roof. I read the reviews and thought I had made a good choice. Turns out I was wrong. In the last week I found multiple pieces of shingles off the corners of my roof and at least 3 entire shingles have blown off my house. Yes, it has been windy but multiple sheets of shingles says shoddy work to me. In addition to finding these shingles, I have rather significant water damage in my house. I called to ask about repairs and was told that labor only has a 1 year warranty and that I have to pay somebody to fix it myself. As far as the water damage goes, I was told to file an insurance claim. Not happy about that but I let them call their service guy. He called me on a Saturday while I was at work and gave me attitude that I wasn't home for him to do the repair right then. (Apparently both he and the company did not listen to my schedule when I told them). I told him that I had to work on Sunday and would be home until 11am. He said he would stop to inspect the roof before I left for work. He did not show up. No word from him until he texted me at 9:45 Sunday night. He then asked me to call him, which I did. I told him I had to work on Monday and leave by 9am. Again he said he would be there. He said that he would only charge me $150 if I paid cash or $175 if I had to write a check - which had to be written out to his wife. (That doesn't seem shady at all.... hmmmm.) He had to check with his "helper" so he couldn't tell me what time he would be there. I texted him an hour later with no answer. Fed up in the morning when he didn't arrive at my house before I had to leave for work, I texted him to tell him that since he didn't answer me so I could arrange to have somebody at my home, I could not authorize him to work on my house while I was gone. Again, no answer. He texted me an hour later saying was on his way. I called him to say that I couldn't permit that. He very rudely told me that he has a bigger job to do on Tuesday that is why he wanted to get my job out of the way. Unfortunately his behavior did not make me feel as if he would actually repair my roof. I called the company to tell them that I wanted a different repair person and was told that they didn't have any repair people who would come this far to do the jobs. (Funny though, I wasn't too far for them to take my money the first time.) So now I have to find somebody myself to repair the roof and the water damage in my home and pay for it all. Their work is subpar and their customer service is terrible. They obviously don't care about their customers or follow up. I had been considering using them for more projects but am now finding other contractors.

The salesperson, Dennis, was professional, provided lots of ideas and suggestions, and took his time with us as we changed our minds often, before and during the project. The crew, Ralph and John were so professional and detail oriented. We loved those guys. Roman, the owner, checked in periodically asking for updates and how it was going. I thought the service mentality was dead until I worked with Exceptional Exteriors. I highly recommend them.

Dennis S. Was the salesman who was extremely helpful. Dennis explained everything to my husband and I and answered all of our questions. The siding and the roof installers are wonderful. They were meticulous on every detail. Very professional I would highly recommend. Our house looks beautiful!! Thank you.

They did an excellent job and did it quickly. The contractors came at 8:00 A.M. and put in three new doors (one inside and two outside). All of the work was 1:30 which included two new locks on the inside door. They were pleasant and cleaned up after themselves. I will have them do all of my exterior work and call them again and again.

Getting to an agreement to do the work went very well. I was happy with the pricing. The work took a little longer due to weather, but it looks great.

Bill and the other workers were very friendly, worked hard, did the permitting for us, and dealt with the inspector. Roman is very personable, easy to get a hold of, and called to see what we thought of the work being done. We are very pleased with the sturdy new decks and steps they built~

They promptly responded to our request online for an estimate. Ari was very friendly and knowledgable. Roman, the owner answered all our questions. Chris the foreman was also good to work with. The crew worked well together and finished the job in 2 days. They even painted a vent frame at the top of the house.

Three gentlemen arrived and got right to setting up equipment and ladders, they were all friendly and efficient. The work is impeccable. Their attention to detail while cleaning up was rare.
