Small jobs welcome

"I hired Michele to demo existing tile backsplash and install new. She was able to preserve the majority of the underlying wall and prime if for the new tile which in itself was a large task as it appeared that it was not professionally installed. She took her time to ensure that the tile was straight and that the grout lines were symmetrical. It looked very clean and precise. She was prompt everyday, she cleaned up after herself every day, was was quiet and respectful during her time working on the job which was important because my husband works from home. She completed the job in the planned time frame and on the days as promised to accommodate our schedule. I will recommend Michele to anyone needing high quality tile work in the future! If we have any other jobs we will definitely reach out to her."

Small jobs welcome

"Pitt is a very friendly, flexible, hard working, and detail oriented small business owner. He was very courteous and did a meticulous job replacing a handful of cracked/chipped floor tiles in our kitchen and laundry room. He always arrived on time, got the job done quickly, and let the work areas in better condition than he found them. His work is top notch and his prices are extremely reasonable. It is hard to find good hard working people who do quality work with such at good attitude at a palatable cost. Pitt did all that and so much more. I'm very particular and don't generally write review, but without question, I would hire Pitt again. I liked him and his work so much I asked if he could recommend someone for a different project because I trust him that much. Good guy, good work, fair price, it's as simple as that. Thanks Pitt!"

"The project involved the installation of a new mail box and some landscaping around it. We could not be more pleased with the result. They listened carefully to what we wanted and executed the project perfectly. They were great to deal with and very professional. Their work is not cheap but well worth the price"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

You can lay tile directly on a plywood countertop, but if it’s a high-traffic surface in a kitchen, it’s better to add a moisture-resistant base. Plywood is susceptible to moisture, so if dampness seeps through from the surface around the sink or where you prep food, it can cause the plywood to warp, leading to grout damage, cracked tiles, or mold growth under the surface.

To ensure an even and unbending surface to lay tiles on, you’ll typically need to put a subfloor under a tile floor. Fiber cement backboards are the most common choice, but using plywood is also possible. Don’t neglect this step, or you could risk water damage and grout or tiles prematurely cracking or crumbling, especially in an area with high foot traffic.

Porcelain countertops have a fairly long life span, sometimes lasting for decades. Depending on how much wear and tear you put your countertops through, it could last 25 to 50 years. But be warned, porcelain is also prone to cracking, so as long as you take good care of it, you’ll have those countertops looking brand new for years to come.

Yes, you can tile a shower as a DIY project, and you can save hundreds of dollars in labor costs by doing so. However, you’ll need to rent or buy quite a few tools and supplies for the job, including a saw, tile nippers, and a new shower pan. In terms of the work itself, you should be prepared to tackle a variety of different tasks, including measuring and ordering materials, removing old tile, waterproofing the wall, adding rows of tile, grouting, and more.

Whether you want to match your tile trim with grout comes down to your personal preferences. If you match the two, it can help your tiles to stand out while providing a clean, cohesive look. On the other hand, you might opt to match your tile trim with your tiles. The best option will depend largely on your tile design, as well as how it fits overall with the rest of your room.
