"I hired this firm for drywalling. The fast turnaround on the work was impressive, but even more impressive - and appreciated - was that they did the painting job I had to go with it!"

Customers say: True professional

"The first week was fast. The crew arrived on a monday and started tearing out the stud walls and the old suspended ceiling. within a week the basement was bare and then the insulation. studs and drywall began to be placed. They were careful but speedy Electrical placement of lights were determined. Placement of the wet bar was decided and we ordered a cabinet and sink. Hoping it would be back by the time it was to be installed, it was. Mr. Hartel's wrecking crew was hard working , steady.and neat. We decided on the color of tile for the bathroom and layout that we wanted and purchased it. The insulation, ceilings and walls now competed. The bathroom and shower was tiled and cabinet with faucet was installed. Because of the family height the cabinet was raised, Hartel did a great customize job on the cabinet. It is distinctive and we love it. a quality job. Once the bathroom was finished. Hartel installed a laminate floor in the office area painted and created doors to fit on the utility room entrance. When the job was completed we were more than pleased. We are jumping with excitement.. Hartel and his crew are professional efficient, reliable, and punctual, We did get several estimates along with Mr. Hartels and found him to be the best candidate for the job base on his past job performances and competitive pricing. We are thrilled with the results."

"The installers?Noah, Matt, & Pierce? were terrific. Skilled, courteous, and exceedingly clean. Five stars for them. The initial contacts with the company were the problem. The salesperson Brandon was over-the-top pushy and condescending and subjected me to four hours of nonstop high-pressure sales pitches. I was required to make selections on flooring, fixtures, etc., without seeing actual samples. It wasn?t until a week later that another employee mentioned in passing that I could visit a showroom and see samples. This resulted in many changes, some of which were made, some not. End result is a bathroom that was well constructed, but contains some things I wouldn?t have chosen had I been given better information at the outset and not been subjected to such an unpleasant and unprofessional salesperson."

"Dave from Remodeling Experts did an awesome job with our bathroom remodeling! On short notice, Dave was able to coordinate the removal of our old vanity and toilet and returned soon after, after a separate flooring project was completed, to install a new vanity and toilet. The end result was beautiful and I appreciate the communication and coordination that Dave provided throughout the entire experience. I also want to mention that Dave’s price for the job was extremely reasonable! I’ll certainly be hiring Remodeling Experts for all of our future home improvement needs!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

It’s best to start with tiling the shower floor before moving on to the walls for the most visually-pleasing results. When taking on any tiling project, you’ll want the wall tiles to “sit” neatly on the floor tiles rather than overlapping them. Finishing your floor tiles first will allow you to place your wall tiles without any gaps, holes, or awkward intersections.

No, painting shower tile doesn’t last and is better reserved as a temporary solution to refreshing the look of old tiles. Shower tile paint may last around one to five years, depending on how well you prep the surface before painting, the type of paint you use, the type of tile in your shower, and how often you use the shower.

Glass, ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone are all excellent choices for tiling a shower floor. Some glazed finishes can be slippery when wet. Your tiling contractor can provide more information on which tiles will work best for your shower floor.

To make a bathroom look bigger, choose light-colored, medium- to large-format tiles. Light colors such as white, cream, or light gray make a space feel more open, while dark colors, busy patterns, and small tiles can make a bathroom feel smaller. It may seem counterintuitive, but small tiles can shrink a room visually due to the increased number of grout lines. Using medium- to large-format tiles creates a more seamless look. For the best effect, pair your light-colored tiles with a matching or similarly colored grout. This minimizes the grid-like pattern and gives the floor and walls a more continuous, uninterrupted appearance, helping the room feel significantly larger.

The easiest tile size to install is large tiles, and they’re easier to install than small tiles—the job is faster and simpler when there’s less placing, adhering, and grouting to do. However, when tiles get really big, they’re more difficult to handle, cut, and fit. Standard floor tile sizes are 12-by-12 inches, 18-by-18 inches, and 12-by-24 inches.
