"Joe was so helpful! We have two large openings in an apartment that we could not figure out on our own. Joe first assisted via a virtaul consult and then came in person for the installation. He was professional, courteous, and he observed Covid-19 safety precautions. We cannot recommend Safer Babies enough!"

THE HOME HERO posses’ superhuman skills for all your interior handyman projects, on any budget. We have up to 5 full time "HERO's" on staff, and several part-time "SIDE KICKS." We are always available to help you navigate the menacing underbelly of interior home improvement. All estimates are free of charge, and we give you a proposal that breaks down the cost of each task, so you have the freedom to pick and choose what you want done now or later. Best of all, we don't mark up the cost of materials. In fact, we even provide copies of the receipts with your final invoice. Lastly, as our reviews on our website state over and over again, we are meticulous in our craftsmanship, and fastidious about leaving your home cleaner then we found it!

"The OK: Towel bar had pulled out of the wall, that was reset and seems to be holding. Bedroom door that wasn't closing well was planed down at the top, I'm not really sure why I paid for that particular solution in retrospect, but was kind of buying into a grab bag, but fine. Kitchen counter caulked where it met the wall, again, not hard work, but fine. The Wasted Money: My front and back door sweeps seemed to have gaps you could see through to the outside and were coming apart. Since it's a pain to get under doors, I was good to pay a little extra for someone else to take that on. Replacement front sweep is already split again almost immediately. New back door sweep is still intact, but I guess as a "solution" the sill was raised and now there's a new gap there that the rain came through a few days ago. Also, under a section on my invoice somewhat brazenly labeled "custom carpentry" considering the end product, an estimate was given for replacing some of a wood rotted door frame as needed (even including "Reinstall brick molding as needed"). A lower piece of the frame was replaced with some solid wood, but it was seriously just cut out and hunk of wood thrown in. You can't miss it even at a glance, so we're at the barest definition of carpentry on that. But then on the top of the door, the wood was just dug out and replaced with layer after layer of putty. That's fine for a small job, but there was too much replacement needed here to not be replaced with actual wood. And the quote mentioning installing new wood and possibly brick molding was much more indicative of the work needed. The work performed still very much flexes at the touch and has started to visibly come apart again as any person would expect. And of course the shabby paint job done over it still leaves the "repair" very obvious as no effort was expended (or more likely wasn't in the capabilities of the "carpenter") to blend it with the frame. So a job that I very much paid to not be done, and that took a whole handful of visits even to be not completed. Also followed up with a plumbers referral from them and that worker also came up short as should be expected. Definitely would not transact with this company again."

"This is one of worst companies that I have ever used!! Contacted them in April of 2024 regarding an issue with my dishwasher and oven. Paid them $450 and neither appliance was repaired. It is now June of 2025, I have made 7 calls sent two emails and still have not been refunded my deposit. This company not only has poor customer service but they are a complete ripoff. Do yourself a favor…….do not use them!,,"

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Jon Martin, founder of JRM Enterprises, a home improvement and custom woodworking business. My wife, four children and I have been residents of Pitman, New Jersey since 1996. I am both an active firefighter for Pitman and a member of a local church. JRM Enterprises is a fairly new business, we started in 2003 and we already have over 100 satisfied clients. A lot of our business is repeat clients. I have been involved in this trade for more than 25 years. I began as a laborer at the age of 14 and have since acquired a variety of knowledge and skills in this industry. I have now branched out on my own and would like to share with you how my business can meet the needs of you and your family. Whether it is simply a new phone jack, a custom rocking horse that will be cherished for generations, or complete room remodeling you can count on JRM Enterprises to get the job done. Please browse through our web page for a more detailed list of our services or contact us at (609) 280-8786 or email at [email protected]. If I do not do it I have a great network of all trades that will. We are all proven and trusted. I will not send anyone that I wouldn't have working in my house. I look forward to doing business with you. Sincerely, Jon Martin

Childproofing questions, answered by experts

A professional childproofer will first survey your home to identify potentially dangerous locations, including stairs, cabinets, and pools. Once approved, your professional will order and install the safety equipment for you.

Some ways a childproofing professional will make your home safe include:

  • Anchoring large furniture

  • Installing safety gates

  • Installing safety latches on cabinets and drawers

  • Covering railings that could trap a child

  • Covering electrical outlets

  • Installing a swimming pool fence

  • Removing or covering electrical cords where possible

In many cases, you can DIY home childproofing with success. You can purchase childproofing tools like cabinet locks, outlet covers, and table-edge guards and install them easily.

However, it's best to have a professional childproofing service work on larger projects like pool safety or furniture anchoring. These safety measures can take a lot of time and effort to DIY, plus, you want to ensure the tasks are done correctly to keep your child safe.

The average cost of childproofing services is $410. This cost can range from $190 to $630 or more, depending on the size of your home and what services you need.

The location of the childproofing additions also plays a vital role in the overall cost. For example, a bathroom is relatively small and costs about $150 to fully childproof. However, if you have a swimming pool, you could spend as much as $1,500 to $10,000 to make it entirely safe for small children, including adding a pool fence.

The best time to hire a childproofing professional is at least three months before your due date. Although it might seem early, proper childproofing takes time, especially if you need extensive services like a pool fence. Getting your house ready now before your child is on the go only helps to protect them at all stages of life.

Many parents, especially first-time parents, agree that professional childproofing is worth it. These professional childproofing services are trained to recognize dangerous home situations that many people would overlook until it's too late. Furthermore, professional childproofing experts have access to top-of-the-line equipment you can't purchase at most stores, providing longevity and peace of mind.
