Small jobs welcome

"I wanted a catio built on my porch so my kitties could spend time outside in the sun. This pro built one with lots of ledges and ramps, and without any cracks so bugs can’t get through. Now I can be out there with them! Thorough job and planning! Great customer service! Did the job quickly as well! Satisfied customer and I will hire again for other projects."

"Had a great experience. Had multiple rooms with new flooring, drywall and painting. Had some electric and plumbing done as well. It was great that they were able to do everything so I didnâ t need to call anyone else. They were very quick with the estimates as well as the actual renovations. Communication was very well. We talked about what we wanted done, was sent an actual estimate with the work to be done with the cost and it was completed efficiently. Would highly recommend."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

All fences offer some degree of privacy, but standard perimeter fences may not be designed with that in mind. Dedicated privacy fences, however, tend to enclose smaller areas and feature more high-end materials that truly emphasize seclusion and comfort. Additionally, privacy fences typically offer fewer gaps to peek in through than standard fences, though you can likely adjust that to suit your preferences.

Regular cleaning, rust-proof coatings, and checking fasteners help prolong the lifespan.

Traditional bamboo fences use twine to attach pickets to posts and stringers, but you have to keep an eye on the twine, as it will deteriorate over time. Alternatively, you can fasten bamboo pickets to framing using fence screws.

The cheapest fence to install is likely to be a wire fence, whether it’s hog wire or chicken wire. Closely following that is something repurposed that would be free to collect, like a DIY pallet fence. Most wire fences are available in large quantities at a low cost, so they’re great for homes with a tight budget.

Moisture and rot are the largest threat to wooden fences. Stain can help your wood fence last 15 to 20 years, but only if you choose a stain with waterproofing qualities or add a sealant. Oil-based stains create a thicker moisture barrier than water-based stains, though both are mold and mildew resistant. You’ll generally need to re-stain your fence every one to eight years to get full protection.
