"We had Valley Brothers out to deal with the dilapidated fence at our new house last year. They replaced the bad parts of the fence and built us two beautiful gates that are still working flawlessly a year later, and at a good price. During the entire experience they were pleasant, professional, courteous, and respectful of our time. We will definitely give them a call when we have any future work to do."

"Kyle did amazing work. I honestly am thrilled every time I drive into our driveway. The house has never looked better. It was a blessing to have him complete our 2 story home, all the trim and even advise where more work would be needed. He is beyond professional and completed the work timely."

"Patrick is detail oriented, professional and kind. He is knowledgeable in his craft and has great mentor group to back him up. His work is clean and he keeps the jobsite very organized. I knew I was working with a professional the moment he showed up. I would highly recommend him. He did an epoxy garage floor coating for me and I couldn't be happier with the results."

"Very satisfied with outcome! Excellent painting job and trim work. Jose and crew prepped, caulked and masked off before painting. Great clean up job after. Would recommend! Thumbs up!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

In most cases, sanding an old deck before staining it is necessary to achieve a decent finish. If your old deck has a relatively new stain finish on it and you're only doing touch-ups, you can generally skip the sanding part. However, if your goal is to make the deck look and function better, sanding first is a must.

It’s necessary for paint to completely dry before exposure to rain, and that drying time varies by the type of paint used. Oil-based paint takes 6 to 8 hours to dry on average, meaning that’s the minimum time needed between the last brush stroke and the first raindrop. Latex paint dries faster at around 1 hour, and acrylic paint is even quicker, usually drying in about 30 minutes. If rain is in the forecast, check the paint manufacturer's details before laying on a new coat.

Exterior paints contain more volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, making them dangerous when used indoors. Without the free ventilation of the great outdoors, it can take longer for the fumes to dissipate than interior paint. While you may notice the smell lessening more quickly, you should be wary of paint fumes inside for 48 to 72 hours after it dries.

Whitewashing isn’t permanent, but it can last for a long, long time. When you apply it correctly or have a seasoned pro whitewash your brick, whitewashing can last for 20 to 30 years or longer. Whitewash is very durable and typically requires little maintenance, making it a great project for most DIYers.

Aftercare includes routine cleaning, checking for water repellency, and promptly addressing any chips or peels, maintaining the deck's appearance and functionality.
