"This was the best painting and painting repair I have ever had done. They repaired the stains in my living room around the skylight, it's perfect. Everyone who comes in comments on what a good job it is. The family room, and the laundry room were painted and the job was excellent and done in a timely manner. The men working here were very congenial, professional, and work well together. Definitely and without hesitation I would call this company again."

Small jobs welcome

"Wes was pleasant and hard working and a clean, neat, worker. Very experienced painter. When he said he was going to be there, he was. He had to work around drywall and flooring people who were also getting my new house fixed up. Never really knew whether they'd be there and where they'd be working, but he managed to work it out and stay out of their way and still get the job done quickly. Very accommodating."

"This was an extensive job that included dry rot repairs, interior and exterior painting, new flooring, a new roof, masonary work, remodeling, installation of a new window and exterior and interior doors including French doors as well as general repairs. Michael was very responsive and easy to work with. His crew did an excellent job cleaning up at the end of the job and even cut the overgrown grass."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

For homes in areas with extreme weather, high heat, or intense sun exposure, high-quality acrylic paint is the best option. Acrylic paint is durable, resistant to both heat and cold, and provides a protective barrier with excellent UV resistance. For best results, look for acrylics that contain natural earth pigments, which are better suited for resisting sun damage. While oil-based paint is also durable, it can be prone to fading in high heat and can become too viscous to apply easily in cold temperatures. Additionally, choosing a neutral or light color like gray, beige, or white can help, as these colors absorb less heat than darker shades.

Rags used with oil-based stains are highly flammable and can spontaneously combust in the right conditions. To reduce the fire risk, throw them in a metal container after use and add rocks on top to secure them. Add an inch of water and seal the container. Take the rags in the container to a hazardous waste factory as soon as possible.

Yes, it is important to wash your deck before painting to ensure the paint applies well and adheres properly. While you don't have to use a pressure washer, it is one of the most efficient cleaning methods. Pressure washing can quickly remove dirt, wood fibers, and flaked paint, getting deeper into the wood than manual scrubbing. You can also clean the deck with a stiff broom and a cleaning solution. Regardless of the method, a clean surface is essential for good paint adhesion. Make sure the deck is completely dry before applying any paint.

There’s no single paint that’s the most waterproof. Instead, there are several types of waterproof and water-resistant paints that suit different purposes. Epoxy paint, for instance, is commonly used to provide a waterproof coating to floors and decks. Masonry paint is an excellent choice for exterior walls. Meanwhile, there are waterproof acrylic paints that can be used for interior and exterior walls. It’s more about choosing the best type for what you’re painting instead of the most waterproof paint overall.

Constant exposure to inclement weather conditions can damage your deck, causing it to fade, warp, or crack over time. Regular maintenance keeps it looking and performing its best. That means giving it a good cleaning and applying a quality sealant or wood treatment to help defend against moisture, sun damage, and everyday wear.
